I know everyone knows about Jomboy Media now, but if you missed this video, it's excellent. I was curious if anyone here knew of any wacky diamonds.

I was thinking about posting this but didn't want any teams getting crazy ideas! Love it...part of what makes baseball so great.

L. A. Coliseum as a baseball field in 1958. Hosted the Dodgers.

I love these fields. Give you a real home field advantage like knowing how to play off the Green Monster or the hill in Enron Field...sad they removed the hill and light pole

Jomboy produces some great stuff. This is a great article on him. If you don't have an Athletic account, I can copy and paste it or something.

https://theathletic.com/1381975/2019/11 ... as-jomboy/

This is the first paragraph:
NEW YORK — @Jomboy_, the curious force known in real life as Jimmy O’Brien, sat behind the giant screen connected to his computer, settling into the chair in which he’d spend 15 hours a day during the baseball season. First came tracking down the raw video of what had been an otherwise inconsequential regular-season game between the White Sox and Astros game from 2017 — though, with the help of his many devoted fans, it didn’t take long. Then came the editing, a self-taught skill that he refined during a year in film school. Finally, there was the concluding flourish, an expletive-laced, free-flowing, unapologetically on-brand chef’s kiss of an improvised voiceover that tied the whole thing together.

Love the track going through the the one. Looks like something I'd see here in Indiana where HS basketball is king, football is the queen and baseball is the joker.

I can't find a picture, unfortunately, but I don't know how you can beat this for crazy: my alma-mater is Moody (AL) Blue Devils. This is LONG after my days but they did some upgrade work on the field and someone had the great (?) idea to put a 20-foot wall in left field extending to LF gap and call it the "Blue Devil" (maybe 300' from the plate). The first factor that made it insane was that there was no reason for it to exist. They could have a put a standard fence 600-ft from home plate and still not come close to any other building. No ads on it...just a big, blue, miniature copy of the Green Monster. They tore it down after a couple of seasons.
