Appleton, WI

Post by Lane » Wed Nov 29, 2017 3:29 pm

Anyone familiar with Appleton, WI ?

Wife and I are traveling this weekend for a wedding (her cousin). We welcome tips for food or can't miss sights/activities. We might tailgate in Green Bay on Sunday as well.

you wont hear arguments from me on the airport (which one just curious?). That being said, i will defend chicago deep dish pizza to the death.

O'Hare is terrible! But most airports are.

My wife is very excited to try a real Chicago pizza. If you have a suggestion for a place around O'Hare, we may drop by. Personally, it's just not my favorite style, but maybe it's better in Chicago than in LA.

That's why you gotta trek it up to Midway!

you can ask 10 different chicago residents their favorite deep dish pizza and get 10 different answers (and not one of them will be Uno, which is the export brand). I am partial to Gino's East myself (http://www.ginoseast.com), but to be honest I am not sure what is around O'hare.

Also with regards to brooksy and midway, that airport used to be a complete shithole but they have actually cleaned it up a lot and it is nicer now.

Chicago is an awesome town. We debated moving there rather than Tucson, but Tucson had my parents, so it won. ;)

Mostly we are concerned about finding good food to eat. Not sure how much free time we will have otherwise, but we enjoy cool nature stuff and old buildings and historical stuff.

I believe I'd skip the wedding if it meant going to Wisconsin.
