MLB playoffs
So I think like 90% of you are Brewers fans, and I wish they had made the postseason because that would have been fun. Anyway who we all rooting for this year? Anyone want to make World Series predictions?
As a Dodger fan I'm pretty concerned about facing Arizona, but once they get past them I think they'll make it to the Series to face Cleveland.

Re: MLB playoffs
Well, now that my Twins have been unceremoniously booted (but props on them for finally making it back), I'm pulling for the Astros in the American League and, honestly, anybody in the National League. I could live without the Cubs winning the pennant again, but I do live in Chicago so I appreciate an atmosphere of baseball everywhere I go.

What is this MLB you speak of? A league in Madrid, or something? Do we need to get out scouts going out there now?

as a proud white sox fan, I will cheer for anyone who beats the cubs. Living 15 minutes from nats park, would be cool to see them do well.

It's a fictional world that only exists here in the Off Topic forum... No need to send scouts. Actually on second thought, yes you should send all your scouts there.RonCo wrote:What is this MLB you speak of? A league in Madrid, or something? Do we need to get out scouts going out there now?

Yeah as far as I'm concerned the Cubs can go another 108 years without winning anything...lolbpbrooksy wrote:Well, now that my Twins have been unceremoniously booted (but props on them for finally making it back), I'm pulling for the Astros in the American League and, honestly, anybody in the National League. As a Reds fan I have no dog in the fight. Pulling for the Indians or Astros. Can't stand anyone in the NL and pulling for the Yankees or Red Sox is just wrong.

Re: MLB playoffs
In Delaware, so always have been an Orioles / Phillies fan. Got into baseball with the Orioles (O's VS Indians -- godfather tried to get me to be an Indians fan), but later got much more into National League / non-DH baseball, and the Phillies were always on while the O's weren't. But I love both and hate when they play each other.
So basically at this point, just rooting for the Yankees and Nats to be eliminated (already thrilled the Red Sox were ousted).
Astros look close to unstoppable in the AL, thinking it'll be the Dodgers in the NL.

Re: MLB playoffs
Go Astros... Let's hope they just enough starting pitching with Keuchel and Verlander. Peacock pitched well this year, but didn't look good in game 3.
My girls enjoy going, so we went more times this year than I have been in a long time.

Still not over Game 2.
Went out to dinner with my wife to avoid the game after the Astros took a 4-0 lead today.
Clearly haven't missed much.
Don't even know why I care about this stupid sport.

I think I had to turn off the TV three times after the Astros tied that game in the 9th. Amazing game though, sucks a team had to lose it.
Has Dave Roberts managed his bullpen like this all year? He definitely uses all of them.

Re: MLB playoffs
Roberts has been excellent with the pen all season and especially in the postseason.
The Dodgers blew the series in game 2. there was no excuse to lose that game. they basically beat verlander, which wasn't supposed to happen, then lost the game. game up home field advantage. i'll be surprised if the astros don't win the next two.

Re: MLB playoffs
i LOVE aj hinch leaving peacock in to finish it out. He had been killing it all game and there was no reason to take him out. Plus you save some of your guys for games 4/5 tomorrow. Darvish was just awful tonight.
Curious to see if they bring Kershaw back tomorrow, I wouldn't personally but it wouldn't be the worst decision in history if they did.
