Congrats on sticking in A!
I've played round 1 so far. Course is.... unique. It has a lot of short holes for birdies but the winds and the slope of the greens makes it a little more challenging. I shot -10 in round 1 which has me in a huge tie for 7th at the moment. I'll need to play ok to prevent a strike but I'm really starting to get antsy eyeing that possible exemption to the WEB.

I like this game, but man do I find the putting frustrating. It's not so much the targeting, but rather determining how to actually move my mouse to put. It feels so jittery and un-smooth. I get that frequently with other shots too, but have sort of developed a swing (when I play consistently) that avoids the accidental 60% swings, but the putting, man. It's so hard to putt the distance you're intending. So often I end up only putting 5-10 feet when I mean to hit more.

Similar story for me this past week...

Stormed out of the gates with a 62 and 63 to go -19 after 2 rounds and in the top 10. A mediocre 66 in round 3 took me out of the running for an exemption though I had an outside shot. Round 4 scores were low and I need a 60 for an exemption. Birdied the first 3 holes out of the game and had makeable birdie putts on 4 and 5 and missed them both. Lost momentum and then bogeyed 2 holes after that. Got hot on the back and posted a 64 final round for -33 overall. Good enough for 12th overall. So two shots at A so far and I've finished 8th and 12th.

Though I'm nervous about this week. I played a bunch of extra courses over the weekend against a buddy and his ghost. I didn't play well. Though I've noticed I don't do too well in non tour events. I think my focus lacks when there's nothing on the line. haha

I have practiced this week's tournament a couple of times as it really has some significant meaning for me this week. Got my 5th straight strike and I'm one more bad tournament away from C....which sucks...the key for me will be posting solid scores the first 2 rounds. Rounds 3 & 4 I posted 8 and 9 under. The first 2 rounds seem more difficult to me for some reason. I did shoot -4, -4 the last time and if you pair that with -17 for 3 & 4, I should be fine, but I want back in A and I don't want to even have to worry about escaping another damn strike. I just want to play the tour and go after it like I was before instead of playing so defensively. Still, the first 2 rounds I have to not blow up a hole. Stay the course with fairways and greens and try to get the putter working.

I am going back to my old controller. I'm having lots of trouble hitting everything left when I use the newer ones...Time to burn this course to the ground! :pickles:

My q school scores got slammed because of the bitterness of the mouse control. Bunch of half hit drives for no reason and wonky putting (over and under powered) I mean some of it is me but a lot is just inexplicable.

I was expecting second lowest group just by virtue of not having played but some really bad holes tossed me into z

Win a tournament in Z and move on. I was +87 in Q-School...it was comical.

This!!

I started in E tour at the end of last season. Began this year there as well after only 4 events played last season. I worked my way up this year. Got some early exemptions, won an event, and have climbed up to A in just 16 weeks.

Q-School was very tough.

I'm at -10, -6 (-16) through the first two rounds. Blew some birdie chances in round 1. Thought it was a pretty easy set up. Round 2 was a bear as the winds made it very difficult to get close. I was -1 at the turn but managed to close out with a bunch of birdies. The ghosts I played with only managed -1s or worse so I'm hoping a -6 will keep me in the running and at least keep me above the strike line.

I shot:

Round 1: -8
Round 2: -5 (tough round but I really played well)
Round 3: -8 (somehow hit a ball in the water and ended up with a double bogie, but dug right back in)
Round 4: -8

-29 for the event should clear my strikes; it won't be an exemption....on the other hand, I had some funkiness with the tournament. After I complete Round 3 it kinda locked up. So I shut down my Xbox and restarted it. I logged back in and hit the X for continue and played what I thought was the 4th Round. When I finished I got this screen:

Summary Screenshot

So....once again I messaged Doyley and told him the dilemma. He said to go ahead and post all my scores and he would manually verify them...If I get DQ'd...I get sent to CC-C, which will be annoying since there was nothing I could do about it. I hope it works out, but I don't know what happened...

So, now that I look at the scores, I'm at -21 after 3 rounds and 2 shots off an exemption. I picked up about 15 spots in the standings with my -8 in Round 3, which I thought was the easiest of rounds...looking at my stats, I could have been a lot lower had I hit any fairways or greens...but anyway, -8 for the 4th round may actually be exemption worthy. I guess I would put it at about 40% chance. That would be kinda neat; clear 2 strikes and gain an exemption to A. Crazier things and all that.

Looks like you are in a great spot for a shot at getting to the Web! Good luck to you Sir!

Yeah I thought Round 3 wasn't that bad and I shot -10 there. Was tearing up round 4 and was -7 at the turn and was thinking a round in the 50s was coming. After a few pars I bogeyed the first par 5 and threw out a few expletives. Bogeyed another hole on the back and wound up at -8 for the round. I'm thinking -34 will be just outside the exemption line. Too many guys lurking to play and post their 3rd round right now.

Good luck on on getting your exemption and moving back up the ranks.

Well, this week started much like many of the last few weeks. Double bogied a hole early and fought my own stupidity and just putting good shots one foot too far or too short one way or the other leading to:

Round 1: -3

Then the next 3 rounds happened:

Round 2: -8
Round 3: -10
Round 4: -7

Hopefully -28 is above the strike line and I can go into next week and hopefully put in 4 solid rounds and get back to A....getting closer.

I played my 2 WEB rounds today. Shot -7 and -6. Was even at the turn in round 2 and caught fire, holing out for an eagle on 12 and was -5 going to 14. Bogeyed a hole late and birdied 18. Now have to wait and see if -13 is enough to make the cut and earn me a Web card. It's going to be close I'd say. Good news is i think the top 70 make the cut and my -7 was in the top 30. Still a lot of golfers left tonplay though but the field is well over 100 players.

The Web course had VERY narrow fairways. And it was important to hit them. Greens were soft so that helped but if you missed the fairway you were dead. Late round 1 and early round 2 saw very high winds.

Made the cut so I'm a WEB.com player now. Coasted to the finish and shot -21 for the event which put me in a tie for 53rd for the event. Last week's WEB event had about 150 players in it.

Started this week's event last night and made my first ever hole in one on the game. I watched a ghost ball go in right before me and my shot was almost a carbon copy of his and it went in as well. I was playing awful and watched a tee shot roll into a deep fairway bunker on hole 10. I had to lay out of the bunker which led to a bogey. I was -2 after 10 holes. I then went birdie, birdie, birdie, par, birdie, ace, birdie, birdie to finish at -10 for the round. Actually lipped out two eagle wedges or could have gone a little lower. I turned what looked like a missed cut in round 1 into a tie for 13th after round 1.

Congratulations! Keep it up and you will be in the PGA before you know it.

This week I went off for 3 rounds and then played the 4th round. I think I took an easy exemption and blew it.

R1: -10
R2: -15
R3: -10
R4: -2

-37....I'll take it. In Round 2 I eagled a par 5 and a par 4 back to back. Next hole was a par 3 (195-ish). I hit the pin and it dropped and sat on the edge of the hole...almost 3 straight eagles. Nutty round..

Nice playing... I've never shot anything close to what you did in round 2. I have to rely on 4 consistent rounds (which I've lucked up and managed lately) over going low.

I'd say you'll be in the hunt for an exemption though that round 4 score will make it tough. With 70+ golfers in B the top 7 will make it in on exemption.
