Looks like it will be enough to get me a runner up finish. On to B and see if I can earn a card there.

Good job Sir! Just keep playing like you are playing. I managed to avoid a strike.

-11 in this week's major...I hate firm greens with mountain goat putting surfaces....I know I 3-putted from 5 feet twice, missed more than 1 putt from 3 feet and had a 2 footer roll over the hole. Sometimes the courses on the tour either don't match up with my play or maybe I just getting annoyed because once I'm on the green I have to be like the Wonder Twins and "Form of Mountain Goat," so that I can still stand up while putting and not fall off the cliff, errr, green.

I posted a -6 in Round 1 last night. Felt Round 1 wasn't terribly bad, mainly because all of the pins were stuck on the back of the green giving you plenty of landing space for your approach shots. From what I'm reading on the forums, that's about to change. I'll need to try and finish out my event tonight and tomorrow as I have a ton of basketball games to coach coming up this week.

My whole goal for this event is stay above the strike line and earn my B card. I told myself to play smart and par is a good score on the tougher greens. Try and birdie the par 5s, eliminate bogeys, and maybe sprinkle in a birdie or two here or there. It worked well in round 1.

Keep up that philosophy. It won't take a big score this week to avoid the strike line. I can't see 12-15 under getting a strike really. I went: -1, -3, -5, -2. Some of the sloping around the holes gets a bit comical as the rounds go on and the flags do get closer to the front of the green. Lots of chipping and putting saves...

Im at 66 and 65 thus far through two rounds for -13 so far. Was able to stay away from the inevitable bogey in round 2. This despite putting one off the green that left me for a chip for par that I made.

Also had a 3 putt on a par 5 for par that I should have chipped it. I got scared to chip it based off of our conversation before but I had fringe between me and the break of my putt and the putt rolled into the fringe and stopped.

I'm hoping to keep the bogeys at bay and stick to a solid finish and perhaps find myself with a permanent B Card. Not looking to get greedy yet with a possible exemption to A.

I finished up at -22. Currently has me in a tie for 8th and earning an exemption to A next week. There are 2 guys yet to post a round 4 score that I think will be enough to bump me out of the exemption. We will see. Either way I'm sticking around in B for at least 3 weeks since I'll earn my card. Pretty pleased with how I played that event. I played everything smart and eliminated any very bad holes. Did have a bogey on the back nine of round 4 that may cost me that A exemption. -23 is tied for 4th and will likely be the number that moves to A.

Something else that became apparent to me in this event.... I'd rather have a 6-10 yard chip from off the green than a 20-30 foot putt. The chips are easier to hole out than the putt on these sloping greens and are easier to judge the speed to on at least getting up and down for a par.

Strike 2! After posting -10 and feeling good about how I played I hit every bunker known to man the next 2 rounds. Salvaged Round 2 (after a bogie and triple bogie on the front) for -6. Then Round 3....I was just surprised when I missed a bunker, plus I missed almost half the fairways...-2...-6 in Round 4 was alright. Front 9 played more difficult than the previous rounds.

-24 overall and playing for my life next week...yay me...

It is crazy how someone's game can come and go. Same happened to me around Christmas. I couldn't hit a shot straight. But since I seem to have found it a little.

I'm at -16 after 2 rounds thanks to a -10 and -6. Round 2 I had a bad double bogey on the back or could be a little better. Scores are trending pretty low so I'll have to play solid in rounds 3 and 4 (probably play tonight after our basketball game) to stay above the strike line in B. I am currently 3 strokes behind the strike line with round 3 scores posted so I'll need to keep it under par to avoid a strike it appears.

I had to play rounds 1 and 2 with no ghosts for some reason (im thinking i had connection issues) which cost me some strokes in round 2 especially. I had a tough time judging the driving distance and where to try and land the ball. There were a hole or two I hit the bunker thinking I could clear it or some stupid reason.

Thanks.... I'm hoping I can earn my A card for a few weeks. Round 4 was painful last week. I needed -4 to win and shot -2 and nearly lost my exemption after a +3 front nine.

I shot a -7 67 in round 1 (odd Par 74 course). Probably need to do better than that if I want to stay in A.

The problem with A is that there aren't very many golfers left in A. I think 43 people played last week. It leaves a fine line if you aren't on top of your game. You are playing well. Keep it up!

I just noticed the same thing this week. Checked last night to see where the -7 stood and then scrolled down and realized there weren't many golfers left to play. I think there are only 41 entered for this week and my -7 has me in 12th of the 26 guys to have played. So there definitely isn't a lot of wiggle room for me to get that A card secured. I had a costly bogey on my first round that was from 4 feet that hopped the hole. 1 stroke here or there is huge at this level. -8 would have me tied for 6th instead of tied for 12th at -7.

I think these tournaments are just in my head...I shot -2 in Round 1 and played really well. I had 2 putts hit dead center in the hole and pop out. 4 others lipped out and a few either rolled over the edge or stopped on the edge...Could have easily been -8...Round 2....-1 after being -3 after 6. Pretty frustrating. I have basically no chance of avoiding a 4th consecutive strike. I just gotta weather the storm and get back to just managing the course one hole at a time.

I'm playing pretty well in the community events. So, I know it's all in my head with the tour events...

Sounds like you're just in a rut. I was in a similar one right around the Christmas holiday event. I was slicing the ball badly and couldn't seem to find the right slot on the controller to hit a good shot. I even shot an 80 in a round. But then started finding the right spot again and have gotten pretty solid with the putter of late. Unless it has a huge break, I feel fairly confident I'm going to make anything inside 10 feet and have begun draining more longer putts. I have also gotten the feel for chipping of late as well and have started holing out several more chips which has helped my scoring.

I'm just trying to stay competitive and fight off that eventual struggle that you're currently in. I know it'll happen again at some point.

-1 in Round 3 and then, oh my, -6 in Round 4...I have nothing good to say about the set up of that course, but the issue is really with the green firmness.

I was cruising in rounds 1 and 2 and was in the running for an exemption. A ho-hum -2 in round 3 now has me scrambling to stay above the strike line to get my A-Card. If I can shoot a -5 in round 4 I'll stay within 10 strokes of the leader. I'm also the top exempt player at the time so I have some things in my favor at the moment. Just need to play better in round 4 which I'll play tonight. My putter failed me in round 3 as I missed 2 birdie putts from inside 6 feet and then missed a par putt from 11 feet that had very little break in it. I was making those putts in first 2 rounds.

I'm not a huge fan of these courses either but am OK with them from time to time. Especially since everyone plays them the same as me. This one is a bit tougher than previous ones because they've tucked the pins behind some bunkers, making it impossible to get the ball close to the hole.

-17 this week....-6, -2, -2, -7...#16 in Round 1 killed me and Rounds 2 & 3 were pretty comical...I must have had 10 putts hit the hole and pop out...hopefully, somehow Round 4 gets me above that strike line. 5 straight strikes seems likely though..

Congrats on sticking in A!
