I wonder when all the AL fans are going to finally admit that power has shifted back to the NL? We gave you the last decade, let us enjoy it for a bit!

Well, we'll see where Albert, Reyes, and Hanley wind up in the next couple of years but we should have the pitching locked up for awhile.

I totally missed the Brew Crew picking up Marcum. Nice
Budget aces. Very good rotation. Glad to see teams like the brewers. Giants, and brewers taking a step
Forward.

Re: Brewers going for it!
Fair enough. That was my reaction as well. I think they've put together the "poor man's" version of the Giants rotation, i.e that kind of talent but with each player having a flaw. Gallardo seems to be extremely talented, but has never been able to get his WHIP low enough to have an elite type season. Greinke is a Cy Young quality pitcher, but also suffers from some inconsistency, and at times depression. Marcum is also a fantastic pitcher, but he can't stay healthy. Wolf likewise can be quite good, not ever going to be elite, but his inconsistency and periodic injuries have caused him to drift a bit. Narveson...meh, AAAA starter material. I think it is however, a good rotation. With three guys capable of winning 15+ games, and a fourth with 12-15.jcrmoon42 wrote:I guess I should look more closely at this newly vaunted Brewers rotation, because on the surface I'm not seeing it.
Of course, being that they are all flawed, they could also easily find two of them on the DL for extended periods of time (Marcum and Wolf) while Greinke gets depressed and becomes inconsistent, and Gallardo churns out another season in the high 3 ERAs.
In terms of raw talent, this rotation is as good as Milwaukee has had in a very long time.
As for Recte's comment:
I don't think that's true, but I don't blame Recte for being excited. I think the Giants match up best, and then the Cardinals, who's top three I'd take over the Brewers' in a heartbeat, but I'd put the Brewers third in line for that honor in the NL.Prospects be dammed. If anyone matches up well with the amazing Phillies rotation its the Crew.

As a Card's fan, I'm of course biased but I love:
Carpenter
Wainwright
Garcia
Westbrook
Lohse ( )
And I can't dismiss:
Arroyo
Cueto
Wood
Volquez
Chapman/Leake
The Brewers have the offensive edge, but I like what the Cards did in the offseason and the Reds can run anyone out in that park and rank in the top offensively. I think things are setting up for a heck of a race.

As a Cubs fan, I want to say that I hate all of you Brewers and Cards fans for doing something productive this offseason. Haha.

I dont know how soon I would conced that the Brewers are better offensively. I mean they did outscore St Louis last year by 14 total runs. And the Cards added Berkman.KCCardinalFan wrote:As a Card's fan, I'm of course biased but I love:
