Now's the time to create your new owner. You only have until
before Spring Training. This handy reference guide to owner's
personalities will help your new owner from having the nasties and
should help you decide where to stick your precious four points.

You have four total points to move up or down the two scales of:
Fiscal Spending and Patience.

Assuming "middle of the road is" 5 (which, gives us our present
cookie cutter owner's personality of: tolerant, economizer), you
can move all the way down one scale to a 1: Unmerciful or Penny-
Pincher (i.e., your ex or Goebbels or Donald Trump?).
(Hawaii recommends this rating for everyone on the North American Continent.)

But if you are saner than Nosferatu, you can move up the scale
to as high as 9 (take your pick from the Dalai Lama, St Francis, or
your idealized mate) on either one scale, but not both.

You could move as high as 7 on both (5+2pts on both scales), which
gives you someone like Herman Munster or your mother.

As you move up and down the scale(s), you will get:

Spending
01 Penny-pincher
02 more Controlling
03 Controlling
04 Economizer
 05 Economizer
06 Charitable
07 more Charitable
08 Generous
09 more Generous
10 Offbounds! You cannot create a perfect owner.

Patience
01 Unmerciful
02 more Demanding
03 Demanding
04 less Tolerant
 05 Tolerant
06 Lenient
07 more Lenient
08 Understanding
09 more Understanding
10 Off Limits! You cannot create a perfect owner.

So spend those four points carefully.

And don't forget to name your creation. In Mary Shelley's novel, the
creature is never called Frankenstein. So you may want to stay away
from villains or super hero names. But in the end, the name and vitals
have to have the stamp of approval of the commissioner's office—some-
thing this post does not (yet) have:
Change Ownership
- Must be approved by the Commissioner.
– Will cost 20 PP + an article on new ownership. You must submit new details for your team’s owner, including name, nickname, date/location of birth, nationality, height/weight and a new picture.
- Your new owner's Patience and Spending traits can be determined through the following outline:
- You will have 4 "points" to assign to your new owner. Each new owner is automatically set at the middle of the road on "spending" and "patience". Move him up or down a level in any combination of the two categories with your 4 "points".
- This reward may be utilized once every five seasons.
- New General Managers may select this reward during their first off-season with the league regardless of when the team last changed owners.

Why would you ever use any of your 4 points to move down on either scale?

How do we create a new picture for him?

You don't have to, unless he's a "real" person.

He JUST retired, too. Was thinking about Jeff spending the reward to turn him into a coach. :)

WHAT IF a newly-fashioned owner

dies
steps down
retires
has an accident
gets an offer he can't refuse

i.e., is hit with one of the in-game random thangs before 5 years of his tenure are over?

Like I create a new owner and a year later he dies or calls it quits?...

They bury him if he's dead or send him a fruit basket if he retires.

We'll cross that bridge when we get there.

We could just prop him up at his office desk or ocean side villa, without informing the press that he had passed away.

Curious - other then budget, what role does an owner have for us? Sure, they set expectations, but is there another impact that I am forgetting about right now?

Not that I know of.

Your budget is set based on what your owner thinks you can draw in revenue (ie. to come out in the black on the season) - and the way I understand it, the owner personalities mean they are either more lenient (ie. will allow you to spend more than you're likely to make) or strict (ie. will allow you to spend less than you're likely to make). So, in actuality, there may be an immediate benefit to a lenient owner, but it can actually run you into issues down the road because you'll constantly run in the red if you go to the top of his budget year in and year out (which, of course, will in turn begin affecting the budgets he gives you) - unless you have reason to believe that you'll draw better than he expects each season (ie. you think you can overachieve [and, by proxy, outdraw at the gate] his season expectation).
