2042 PPT Report

Post by RonCo » Mon May 25, 2020 11:50 pm

So, yeah, I already did the over-the-top thing. That means this one is all about the numbers. And there were definitely numbers to look at. Records all over the place. They’re weird in a way. Bloated so far that it’s pretty clear something external had to be going on. Yes, I want us to keep a certain momentum going, but please don’t expect these kinds of numbers again.

That said, I want you to read this next statement closely:

For the first time in recorded league history we had no BBA GM fall below the “requirements” of 6 and 20.
The UMEBA, which currently has no firm requirements, saw five of the ten hit the marks. Three of those arrived at mid-points through the year.

On with the facts:
  • Eight GM’s hit the 200 club (including the UMEBA’s Neil)
  • The BBA averaged 127 PPT/Team (52 points/team better than last year)
  • The UMEBA averaged 44.3 PPT/Team (double last year)
  • The BBA averaged 30.5 TN/Team (vs. 18.3 last year)
  • UMEBA averaged 6.6 TN/Team (even with last year)
  • The BBA averaged 251.2 Posts/Team (only an odd 2035 saw more)
  • The UMEBA averaged 105.9 Posts/Team (30 better than the past record)
  • The BBA recorded 976 Team News, the UMEBA another 66.
Overall, everything was a per capita record by a WIDE margin except for posts, which was nearly so. I think that continues to reflect the impact of Slack. That said, the core of forum writing was still posting records (153 features or such efforts, for example—and all those TNs). So, at the end of the day it seems like Slack is cutting volume, but maybe not quality. Time will still tell.

Here are some charts. This time, rather than per capita for the BBA, I want to show you the raw numbers—because, let’s be a rebel, all right?

And here's UMEBA per team:

The 12th year in a row for Ron. He is like the John Wooden of the Forum.
