Louisville spend 110 ppts

Post by Fat Nige » Wed Aug 29, 2018 3:16 pm

Louisville will spend 100 ppt to build new stadium to be called the "Kentucky Truck Plant Stadium" in a corporate sellout deal. 45,000 seats with turf. payment by 100% of bonus funds + Corporate sellout fee, rest by payment plan. Distances LL to RL : 325, 370, 410, 410, 410, 320, 300
Wall Height LL-RL : 8, 8, 8, 16, 16, 7, 6

As part of this I will spend 10 ppt to relocate Alabama Slammers to Louisville to play in new complex to be built on the area of the former Waterfront Park. The new team will be called Louisville Fire.

Are you in a rush for logo & uni for Louisville Fire? I had it on my to-do-list probably Tuesday or Wednesday. I can bump it up sooner if you need it before Matt?

Well, I need your stadium factors too, so get me the stuff for Louisville Fire when you can and I'll finish this at that time.

Sorry, I thought the dimensions automatically gave the stadium factors. How do I work those out? Or do I just slap down whatever I want? Don’t really know much about stadium plans lol

Are the factors random like that or are the actually based on the field dimensions? I was curious, so I went to the generator and plugged in my stadium just to see how close the factors were to what I went with manually.

According to Shotz Stadium dimensions, my homeruns are .846 and .821 (I set them at .8) and my doubles are at 1.035 (I went .86) The average is really different as I wanted a high BA park and set mine at 1.1 and the generator says mine should be .988 and .975.

I'm curious now what the dimensions would need to really be to have a high average, low HR, park.

Thats based on the dimensions. At some point I want to use this for all changes moving forward.

Doesn't the 1.4 number break the guidelines of not more than 1.2? Or am I remembering that wrong?

In the game, the dimensions and park factors are completely independent. There are actually some good reasons for that, but it seems weird. THe Park generator is an independent and manual attempt to connect the two up to some reasonable degree. To do what you want, you have to play around with lots of factors...here's a configuration that results in low HR, high average. Note doubles are up.

I don't think it is truly realistic to make a park like I did with the factors I did. I mean a park that gives up a lot of hits but all of them are singles and only a FEW EBH. Maybe a short park with really high walls!?

Right.

Since the game itself allows you to set any dimensions vs. any park factors, it supports lots of weird kinds of leagues. But the values you plug in won't be "proper" given our understanding of physics. :) The park generator isn't always particularly perfect in its own view of physics, but it does its best and is a pretty good piece of work on the whole. Plus it gives you a nice little picture of the park.

I tried to create a park that that I felt was "somewhat" realistic to my park factors. After playing with that generator (I hadn't ever seen that until yesterday) I wish I had created something a little more unique just for fun. I liked the look of a quirky little corner on the layout but oh well...
