Post by agrudez » Wed May 23, 2018 10:45 pm

I would like to convert Cisco Chavez into a SP by adding a sinker.

Oh, I like this one. Already solid change up so he has his breaking pitch. Nice move.

Yup, and a lot of time these kids get their velo back. Could be good.

I have my fingers crossed, but Chavez reminds me a lot of A-Rod whom I ruined with this conversion back in my Omaha days. In Chavez's case, even though he is only 20, I am definitely concerned that he is pretty well done developing (just 5 points of STU left and fully fleshed out MOV/CON) to start bumping his 3rd pitch potential now.

If you're interested, here is a piece I did back in the day on the subject: http://montybrewster.net/MBBA/phpBB3/vi ... zach+brown

You know though... it's these types of decisions that make the game fun. It may backfire. But it'll feel great if he pans out.

Yeah, definitely. The SP/RP conversions in this league are, imo, a hallmark of it. Sometimes I find myself in another league cycling through players in a draft and thinking "oh, he'd make a tremendous RP convert" before realizing I'm in the wrong file for it, lol.

I've got a guy I was debating trying this on. It's a rare process, but an interesting one.

Dunno. We still don't know what 6 move means.
