True story: John claimed Sparks from Edmonton, which I was running at the time, in the Rule 5 draft back in '48, when I had stupidly left him unprotected. We then did a R5 trade so he could put in the minors rather than have to stash him all year on the ML roster. Now he comes back to me (albeit in Chicago), with the clock ticking: a former #2 overall pick, 25 years old, still undeveloped. I want to see how he does at AAA. If anything, it'll make a good team news.
