YS9 Ricardo Martinez remove from rehab, option to AA

I've got him all settled in at AA, where I want him for a few weeks to try and shake all the walks. But I can't option him directly, it wants me to waive him but he has 3 options. So please use 1 and keep him in AA! Thanks!

I've never figured this out in OOTP either and wondering if any other folks have advice. I've always had to option somebody else on my ML roster, activate the player to the ML roster, then option back to the minors. Finally, put the first player I optioned back on the ML roster. Since they didn't actually spend any days in the minors, I don't believe it actually burns the option for player 1.
