Rule 5 60-day IL Guy - Unintended Return

I had put a Rule 5 guy on the 60-day IL for Opening Day, but I did not intend for him to be returned to his original organization.

My understanding was if I kept him on the IL all year, his 90-day Rule 5 ML roster time requirement should've just rolled over to next season.

If my understanding is correct, he should be placed back on my Injured List (but please let me know if I'm mistaken).
