I didn't think the game let you promote someone over the cap. Did it come from earlier trades?

Mine was from September promotions. I'm not used to being this close to the cap and just promoted everyone on my 40. My apologies to everyone. I'll take whatever the penalty is and just sent 5 players down to get under.

It would be a good idea for the game to pop up a warning when you are over. I would think 99.9% of the time it's accidental.

The game never tells you. Salary Cap in-game is truly broken.
