Waivers / DFA
Waivers / DFA
You had waivers too short. It should be 16 or 17 days given our sim schedule. DFA about 10 days more than that.
Re: Waivers / DFA
Here's the current setting:
We set waivers at 17 days before the last sim. DFA is also set at 17 days. After clearing waivers, players who are DFA are placed in the minors, if they don't refuse. If they refuse, they are cut and the team eats the salary.
Whether DFA is equal to waivers at 17 days or set to 27 days is meaningless in this league. DFA would have to be 32 days to make any difference.

Re: Waivers / DFA
You should have one sim to move guys off the DFA yourself after they clear waivers.
Re: Waivers / DFA
Ideally, I agree with you. However, that would require a 32 day DFA stint to accomplish. Which means that players who get DFA'd and then released would essentialy be in limbo for a month-and-a-half. A month-and-a-half is way too long. Heck, a month out of action is way too long.mad0die wrote:You should have one sim to move guys off the DFA yourself after they clear waivers.

I'm with Gates. It's a little extra work for the simmer but it's the best thing for the league.mad0die wrote:You should have one sim to move guys off the DFA yourself after they clear waivers.

Re: Waivers / DFA
That would certainly shorten the DFA period required, but would still mean a month for players to get released. In any case a proposal to shorted the sim length belongs properly in the Suggestions area.braveheart wrote:Solution - 10 day sims!elligator wrote:Ideally, I agree with you. For now, we'll stick with the 17 day waiver and DFA periods. Players left on DFA will be placed on the AAA team if they will accept it, if not, they will be released outright and your team will eat the contract.
