Boise Spuds '48-'49 Offseason Trade Block

Post by woods » Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:31 pm

It’s never too early to get to work in Boise, so here’s a new trade block for the offseason. If you’re interested in any of these guys, let’s start talking before the season ends so I can factor it into my option decisions.

RF/DH Ismael Alfonzo (55/55) - Not as bad on defense as you’d think. Somehow hits righties better than lefties, even though his ratings say the opposite. Will hit over .300, strike out less than 30 times a year, hit lots of doubles and a few home runs.

SP/RP Bob Woodger (45/45) - Still very young. Ratings have been on the decline, but he’s young enough to bounce back. Can start, but realistically more of a candidate for long relief. Can be had for very cheap.

SP Armando Castro (45/50) - 27-year-old with six pitches that are still developing. If all come in fully, he could be a late-blooming star. Will be better in a big park, he has a bit of the problem with giving up the long ball. Still pre-Arb for one more year.
