Calgary Trade Block

Well I thought we had a playoff team in 2042 and went 80-82 and finished 26 games behind. I thought I had at least a .500 team this year and we went 76-86 and finished 26 games behind.

The last time I had back to back losing seasons was 2011-2013. So I guess my assessment of my team is flawed so I might need to do the first blow up since forever. I still don’t think I would deal Pierce, Medina or Karyabwite, but most everyone else I will consider. So here is the list, but there are many other guys I would deal. Ask.

I am looking for premium prospects. I am looking for guys that put me in the playoffs in the future. I have plenty of above average guys in my system, I need better than that. Particularly SP and impact players at 2B/SS, C or CF.

So here is the block

1B Chairman Mao - One of the top hitters over the past few seasons and still on a good contract. 9 power vs RHP. His career 162 game average is 48 homers and .985 OPS. He is making $10 mil this season and next. Prime age of his career at 26.

SP Edwin Gilliam - #1 or #2 starter. 7 seasons in the league, the last 6 with over 30 starts. He doesn’t get hurt. One of the best control pitchers in the league his average WHIP is 1.21. Good movement guy to keep the HRs down and 3 solid pitches. Great pitcher in a HR park on a team with average defense. STEAL of a contract, 4 years at $11 mil per year with the last 2 team options. 28, prime of his career.

SP/RP - Tokimasha Ihara - Lefty, once rated among best pitching prospects in game, has struggled here. Maybe a new home is what he needs. I can live with him as he is only 22, but for the right deal I’d trade him.

LF/RF - Arturo Mendoza - All around solid Lefty bat, contact/power/eye and won’t hurt you in the field. He is blocked here and could start right now. 22 years old. Would deal him for prospect at a different position or in a package.

1B - Tommy Cochran - Righty power hitter, free agent after the season. So play him and get a comp pick or resign him. Got him so he could play for his Dad, but his Dad might be out of a job soon.

C - Connor Hamiton - Power hitter with great defense, just got outplayed by one of my younger guys. Cheap contract

RP - Ismael Guzman - 23 years old, just heading into his prime. As his changeup develops his walks will go down. Has a weak knuckleball but have toyed with starting him.

RP - Vaclav Vroomland - Lefty reliever with 2 great pitches. Expendable because I have younger lefties ready to pitch.

CF - Man-Keung Sui - 23 years old, 10 in CF and 7/8 contact. Righty, hit .343 for me in 2042, not last year.

CF - Tashfin Modupe - 24 years old, 10 in CF, 11 in RF. Lefty who hit .290 for me in 2042, but not in 2043. Lefty version of Sui.

UT - Jack Douglas - Great fielder, speed, bunt and bunt for hit.
