Re: 2043 Valencia Trade Block
I do like the format with the stats snipped in, that is a nice touch. One suggestion is maybe find some way to get their ratings in there as well (either hand jammed or snipped in like the stats).

Re: 2043 Valencia Trade Block
I was actually debating including the ratings. Do our scouts not differ in the assessments of these players? I was worried that I would be posting my scout's assessment.usnspecialist wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:14 amI do like the format with the stats snipped in, that is a nice touch. If the ratings are universally the same, then yeah ill post em!

Re: 2043 Valencia Trade Block
we turn scouts off because OOTP is too unreliable with it, so everyone will see the same ratings. Valid concern though.tallywood wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 10:22 amI was actually debating including the ratings. Do our scouts not differ in the assessments of these players? Re: 2043 Valencia Trade Block
I find it a bit disturbing that you didn’t know scouting was off. Do the other UMEBA guys also not know this? I don’t mean this as a personal shot. More like I’m now worried about what other basic info you or the other UMEBA guys might be unaware of. I would hope our GB members aren’t delusional enough to believe that the newbies have actually read the constitution...

Re: 2043 Valencia Trade Block
I don't think reading the constitution is an unreasonable expectation, so I don't think the GB needs to be delusional to expect that of new league members. Do a lot of people think reading the constitution is unreasonable? I mean you wont be able to absorb all of the information right away, but I don't think it's that long or convoluted.bschr682 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 1:34 pmI find it a bit disturbing that you didn’t know scouting was off. Honestly, if new members aren't reading and then referencing the Constitution, I don't know what the GB is supposed to do about it.bschr682 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 1:34 pmI find it a bit disturbing that you didn’t know scouting was off. Re: 2043 Valencia Trade Block
Presumably you guys picked him to make the jump to the BBA. When you did that, you could have easily mentioned there are many differences between UMEBA and BBA. Perhaps reminding him to refresh his knowledge via the constitution...Lane wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 1:51 pmHonestly, if new members aren't reading and then referencing the Constitution, I don't know what the GB is supposed to do about it.bschr682 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 1:34 pmI find it a bit disturbing that you didn’t know scouting was off. Obviously this isn’t a huge deal in this case. Just pointing out that you guys still don’t vet people properly. Which leads to sharking.

Re: 2043 Valencia Trade Block
Lol you think the BBA Constitution is equivalent to an agreement full of legalese? It's not even close dude. Terrible example. Regardless, what do you suggest the BBA or the GB does? We already require reading it in the application process.bschr682 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 2:47 pmDo you read the EULA on every piece of software you use? Oh, a rules podcast! That would be fun. Go one line item at a time and discuss it. Rules AFBI! But would a new person listen to that podcast a year from now? Maybe we should require that people listen to it in the application process .
I have another idea! One person on the gaming board should read the constitution to the person applying. That way we know they know right? Certainly there's no time considerations of the person having to read the entire thing aloud to the person applying.
I'm kidding here obviously. There's no good solution other than requiring it to be read and understanding that no one will know everything that's in the constitution. That's why we remain approachable to anyone new, answer any questions they have and try not to make a bigger deal out of things if it's something we think is obvious.

2. Actually yea it’s a perfect analogy. When you install software it asks if you have read and agree to the EULA and won’t let you move on if you don’t say yes. Most people just lie and click yea. On our application it asks if you have read and agree to the constitution and quite obviously you can’t join the league if you say no. So yea internet gonna internet most people just say yea and move on.
The point being it’s highly naive to actually assume people have read it just because it was on a form. So for example when a person is making the jump from UMEBA to BBA it would certainly seem a friendly reminder to now actually read that constitution would be a good way to go. Couldn’t hurt?

Re: 2043 Valencia Trade Block
Disturbing, basic info, delusional. Strong words in this original post from someone who just wants the governing board to provide a gentle reminder for people coming to the BBA to re-read the constitution. A reminder is fine obviously, but if that was the original intent I think you probably could have chosen your words better or just reach out to a member of the GB directly. This seems intended to provoke a reaction or maybe it's just my time of the monthbschr682 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 1:34 pmI find it a bit disturbing that you didn’t know scouting was off. I was talking to Lee about Pagan since early in the off season. As busy as he was, talks were not progressing quickly.

It must be due to us bumping it for Dillon. We need Lederer to investigate the Valencian collusion.
