2047 JAX is Overweight Block

Post by DugoutDesperado » Sat May 22, 2021 6:45 pm

Based on the latest calculations, the JAX payroll will be reduced from $128.9M to $112.7M once the players are moved to the minors and Ramirez/Lopez are waived/released.

New Arrival
SP Jose Martinez. $12.5M salary this year with a team option after that. Had a strong second half of 2046 finishing with a 4.38 ERA.

Waive/Release List ($1 bin)
SP Alejandro Ramirez - $8M salary this year with a $7M player option next year. Would pair up with a prospect if needed but I am perfectly willing to release him and eat the cost.

2B Juan Lopez - $1M contract with a 30 rating - pretty much any prospect can have him as he has seen his better days.

Prospect LIst (minor league prospect that is 5/10 lower in potential rating will be heavily considered).
SP Shinsaku Ine 55 rated pitcher on a decent $2.25M contract for this season.

RF Gui Jen. 50/55 rating who posted a 0.6 WAR last season (14 HRs in 230 ABs while hitting .265) on a $2.2M salary.

1B/RF David Ward. 45/50 rating who posted a 1.2 WAR last season (10 HRs in 144 ABs while hitting .292) on a $1.5M contract.

I will entertain other offers - but I am looking to still make a run in 2047 so deals for the likes of Dijkstra, Encarnacion, Costa, Pickens would have to provide similar value for this year while not requiring me to take on additional salary.

The JAX payroll is currently sitting at $!28M so there is $18M of shedding to be had here.

I think you linked to the wrong Ine.
