Calgary Trade Block - Lots of Guys

Calgary Trade Block

This is an initial trade block, I will be adding several players over the next couple of days. Primarily looking for prospects or upgrades, no glaring holes to fill. Open to trading 3-5 guys for 1 if the deal is right.

Pitching - Everyone is always looking for pitching. I have too many SP and too many RP and many can go either way.

Jose Arellano - Solid SP on a $6.5 mil contract for this year and next. Can play in any park. Doesn’t have a spot in my rotation so will go back to the bullpen, but could start for many of you.

Greg Brown - SP/RP that will be going back to AAA for me. Pitched great this Spring. 7 G, 9.2 IP, 0.00 ERA, 1.03 WHIP. I keep trying to find a spot for him but can’t.

Jose Vega - 25 year old SP/RP on league minimum. Just no spot for him here. May end up going on waivers depending on numbers.

Ismael Guzman - RP on league min that just needs a chance for his change to develop. Will probably go on waivers.

Naruhiko Kawano - My #1 SP Prospect. Looking to move him for a similar younger prospect or as part of a deal. I just have too many guys around the same age and development


Infield - Lots folks looking for SS, got that and more here. Plus some great bats.

Imazighen Kibasila - Starting 2B/SS. Replaced as my starting SS because I went with a premium glove. Kibasila is a 9, I went with a 10. Worst case he will be a great injury sub and utility guy. That is what I am using him for, but has starter ability.

Matt Normore - Lefty DH. 10 contact, 10 gap. He has been my starting DH the past 3 years. He has hit .309 for me with 592 hits and 130 doubles. So he has averaged 197 hits and 43 doubles per year. Also has speed. I am looking to go with more power at DH (maybe) if I can trade him for something decent. If not he will stay here.

Manuel Hernandez - 2B, 26 yr old, I signed him for injury depth. Previously started for Long Beach.

Bryan Gill - 1B, guy is a boomer. Guy has 8/10 contact/power against lefties and 7/9 against righties. Guy has only had limited trials with us, needs a chance to play everyday. I have 6 guys for 1B and DH. Lot of power at league min.

Ernesto Mendoza - 1B another guy, this one a lefty that is 1 of the 6. Not on 40 man so no rush to deal him, but he could help some teams.

Francisco Cortez - Switch hitting 3B. I drafted the guy when he came up, dealt him, then signed him as a minor league FA when he was available. Never played in the BBA. He is 28, I plan on trying an age check on him next year, but will deal him if someone is interested in him now


Outfielders - Too many good corner infielders that hit BBA pitching. Plus 2 other interesting ones.

Hadji Ufanisi - Righty with 8 fielding in the corners. Has power. Has been limited to a platoon role when he should be starting everyday. Will keep him in that role, but capable of so much more.

Steve Rogers - lefty with great contact, gap and speed. I really don’t want to trade him, but I am having trouble finding at bats for him. Has been a role player for 4 seasons for me and has hit .297 with a .836 OPS

Joe Quinn - Need the great glove in CF? Quinn is never going to get up to Calgary, got 3 guys ahead of him. He is a 9 in CF, maybe a 10 if he gets to play more.

Robinson Trujillo - Super Sub. Whatever position you need he can play, rated at 6 positions, sure he could play 1B too. He has been with me 5 years, but I have younger guys that can do this too.
