As the off season is upon us, it has been noted that Jacksonville has 17 catchers in its organization. Very high probability that one or two of them will be moved prior to the FA Sim #1 so if any of these backstops strike your fancy, don't hesitate to shoot me a message or hit me up on Slack.
Mike Schofield is the current catcher of choice with his 31 homers last year although the .217 batting average and the odds on another 30+ homer season may not be high. Most projections have Mike hitting above 20 homers though.
The other 16 catchers are available (Schofield is as well for that manner). They are listed from most expensive to least expensive in the eyes of the Canes insiders:
Felipe Delgado (40/55) 21 year old in AAA
Pepe Prieto (40/55) 21 year old in AAA
Jose Moran (45/45) 22 year old in AAA
Pablo Alaniz (45/45) 25 year old in AAA
Reginald Calderon (35/40) 23 year old in AA
Looking for similar potential in starting pitching. Also would be willing to take someone in the majors that may be slightly overpriced if the rest of the deal’s details met certain levels.
The compete list of catchers outside of Schofield and Cheron are listed below:
