Long Beach Not a Fire Sale Sale

Post by Lane » Sun Apr 19, 2020 4:08 pm

Long Beach is re-tooling, not re-building. So, the following players are on the block.

3B Michael Best - Last year of contract, not talking extension with me. He might with you though.

1B/2B Sloan Daniel - Admittedly not worth much, but maybe a decent bench option for someone (he's not a great 2B anymore but would be fine off the bench)

1B/DH Miguel Suarez - Against RHP he had 6 WAR in 2040 and 2.3 WAR in 2041. Ratings intact. Not expensive, could be useful to you.

2B/SS Brett Compton - Again, probably best as a bench piece, but you could do worse

LF/RF Mike Manning - Yeah, the contact isn't there but he's got good eye and good AvK against lefties if you need that in a corner OF spot with good defense.

SP Luis Oliva - Last year of contract, won't negotiate with me, but might with you. Has been a solid mid rotation starter since 2036 with an ERA+ of at least 92 in every season.

SP Cornelio Lozano - Great stuff, good movement, lacks control. Less than 2 years BBA service time, so I don't have to move him, but he's a decent back end option.

SP Cris Rios + $8 million cash - Okay listen. I know we all like to shit on this contract, but Julio Alicea (6/6/8) just got PAID and Cris Rios is rated 7/7/6. Rios is only 1 year older. What would you pay him if he were a FA? If the money is truly a concern we can discuss some retention.

Any BBA reliever except Lucero and any AAA relievers except for Luis Rodriguez are available.

Danya is not on the block at this time so no need to ask.

Besides, we all know he only wants to pitch for Yellow Springs.
