Boise Block - Godzilla and More
NEW BLOCK, WHO DIS?
Have a hole at 3B due to injury or poor performance? Looking to add a lefty bat when rosters expand or for your playoff bench? Do you just get a tingly sensation when making any sort of trade? Then look no further than...
Susumu Nakanishi
2042 AAA STATS (thru 8/11/42): .305/.404/.569 (.973 OPS, 142 OPS+)
Dude (45/45) is raking in AAA (on-pace for 5.2 WAR)...he's a one-year rental, as I doubt you'll want him in his final arb season but he's making just $500,000 this year and his offense could carry over into the BBA, as he was a 3.0 WAR player with Calgary and Montreal between 2038-2040. Asking for 80 cents on the dollar in exchange.
Also...
Yunosuke "Godzilla" Terada
2042 STATS (thru 8/11/42): .237/.362/.459 (.821 OPS, 107 OPS+)
55/55, 29 years old, prorated $4.8M final year of deal...on pace for 30 HR and 90+ BB...good on-base and defensive guy if you need him during the stretch run...last but not least, is "Well Known" in National Popularity, so should give you a little fan interest boost...not looking for much in return. .310/.443/.592 in the month of August...
Tomás Borges and Jim Luby
No, not a combo deal but both are similar in that they are 21-year-old minor league second basemen...I'm starting to get a backlog on keystoners so would like to free one of these dudes up. Borges has bumped in contact, power and eye since being drafted late in 2038 and is having a fine year in his first taste of AAA (.311/.411/.504) with good wheels and defense. Luby also has a good glove and speed and is having his best offensive season so far in A (.256/.380/.400).

Re: Boise Block - GILLSTROM
Updated post-Landis block.jleddy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 3:34 pmAfter several upper-level front office discussions, the Spuds will not be bringing back Jared Gillstrom in 2042.
However, the team is not opposed to picking up Gillstrom's team option and flipping him over the winter.
Gillstrom's 2042 option is for $20.49M with an additional playing time bonus ($300k for 450 PA) and incentives ($900k for Silk, $180k for All-Star). Gillstrom, who turned 37 in August, is coming off a 2.4 WAR season in which he hit 33 HR and stole 25 bases for a slash line of .288/.351/.486. In the field, the fan favorite had his worst defensive season at 2B due to his limited range, however a move to 3B will allow his 10-rated arm and glove to be no worse than league-average defensively. Additionally, the future Hall of Famer is immensely popular, sure to boost fan interest, attendance and ticket sales.
As mentioned before, Boise fully intends on buying out Gillstrom's option unless someone is interested in him for just one year, rather than bid for his services in the free agent market. I'm guessing on the open market Gillstrom could settle for a two-year deal with an AAV less than $20M, but a one-year deal could be north of what his option has him locked in at.
If you wnat to swoop in for just one season of Gillstrom, let me know...my asking price is probably a lot lower than you think! Please keep in mind a deal cannot be executed until the off-season sims begin and Boise has been able to pick up Gillstrom's option.
TRADE WILL NEED TO BE AGREED UPON BY 3 PM PST ON TUESDAY (3/10) SO I HAVE TIME TO PICK-UP GILLSTROM'S OPTION AND EXPORT PRIOR TO 5 PM PST (7 PM CST) SIM
He gone.

Re: Boise Block - 8/10 HR Power Bat for 30-rated RP
Off Topic
I'm in a bit of a 40-man predicament...I'm looking for a home for LF Pedro Díaz, as he's out of options.
He's 26 y.o., 40/40 with 8 home run power and 6 eye and making just $750,000. If you lost a few corner outfielders in free agency and don't have an obvious incumbent in AAA, or looking for a power bat to come off your bench making under $1M, this might be your guy.
I'm looking to trade Diaz for just one 30-rated relief pitcher on a minor league contract. Yup, that's all. Let me know if you'd like to make a swap before the next sim!
Thanks!!
