New Orleans Deadline Block - C, SS & 5 time Diamond Glove Winner

Post by JimBob2232 » Mon Nov 11, 2019 5:07 am

Looking to make some room for some young kids. Could use a middle IF, #5 SP, or prospects.

1B Yancy Cravat (https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 31138.html) - STUD. Won last 5 diamond gloves at 1B. Led league in HR 3 of last 4 years. On pace for 49 more dingers this year. Signed through next year at a reasonable rate.

C Antonio Tobias (https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 30993.html) - $15M salary. I can hold back whatever it takes. FA after this year. .262/.362/.481 slash line.

IF Reece Wareham (https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 29397.html) - Good 2B/SS/3B Utility guy. $12M salary. I can hold back whatever it takes. FA after this year. Would be cheap.

OF Ricardo Vargo (https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 35874.html) - I had high hopes for this guy, but he never fully materialized. Still a good slugger who would fit somewhere. Great platoon guy.

worth noting that tobias wont be comp pick eligible if traded. Some interesting names on there though.

pretty sure it has always been a thing where if you get traded mid-season you are ineligible for comp pick.

Player must be on team by opening day and spend the whole season with that same team to be eligible. Only New Orleans would get compensation for him if they don't trade him and he meets the criteria. If New Orleans trades him they forfeit their rights to receive compensation. A team that trades for him would not be eligible for compensation because Tobias didn't spend the whole season on that teams roster.

This is going to be a viable group of players as the deadline approaches and contenders want to make incremental improvements on offense and/or defense...nice block, @JimBob2232!
