Portland Block 2055

Post by 7teen » Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:49 pm

I have the time back and am looking to make the moves if I need to. We have some names on the block that may be of interest. Anyone on the roster is available but here might be the highlights....

Offense
COF Pedro Bustamante - Can be had in a similar type deal to Guzman. I'm willing to take back short term salary if you need me to. No one past 2056 though.

COF Jiao-long Ma - I'm not re-signing Ma. Send me a 50/55 rated prospect at any position and you can have Ma. I'll even retain 50% of his salary. On pace for a WAR over 3.0

1B Ricardo Yanez - off to a great start in 2055. Similar salary structure to the Pedros, but significantly less.

Pitching
Antonio Hernandez
Ken Sparks

Bumping again for adding links. I'm not adding them for Dempsey and Mick because, well, you all don't want them.

Bakitski now gone. Still have one primed reliever left in Ortega. He's pricy, but it's really only a 2 year gamble for anyone interested. No way the options get picked up.

Also have some intriguing starting pitching options. Alicea may require a little more for me to give up. I'm wanting to see if him being a lefty allows him to be successful in Portland. Kinney and Marin can be had real easily if you want pitching.

You all have seen the going rates for guys at this point so, let's get some guys moved. Who wants ORTEGA!!!

Marin getting a little interest now. Had a 4.5 war in 2038. Was 2039 the norm or just a blip?

No one in on Ortega yet? Oh, you'll come around soon I bet!

Awful lot of you guys with cap space would surely love to acquire Kinney or Ortega, right? Either would help relieve some of that money that's burning a hole in your pockets.

Bump.

Put some guys on there that may draw some interest for anyone needing some depth. Of course Martinez is high priced in terms of his salary, but the rest are cheap.

Just looking for guys not on a 40-man roster with similar attributes in return. In other words, not looking for much back!

Fernando Martinez
Alright, I am giving up on Martinez and his -1.3 WAR at this point. I can retain his entire salary for this year and next if someone thinks he's a viable "change of scenery" option. He did have a 2.1 WAR last year. I keep thinking he'll return to the mean and have a hot stretch but we are halfway through the season and I'm still waiting. You can throw me a "cool name" prospect in return.

Or I can swap him for someone you are ready to give up on with a similar contract situation. At this point, anything is worth a shot for me. Just tired of trotting him out there everyday. Would rather give someone else a shot at 2B at this point.

C Hedde Veenman - On pace for about a 2.5 WAR. Arbitration eligible next season.

3B/SS Jaime Ramirez - Diamond glove caliber 3B. Solid SS option. Stolen base threat.

There are about the only two guys that might be trade worthy at the deadline. I'm not willing to cover any salary for Ramirez as I fully intend to keep him if not traded. Not looking to dump him but figured I'd make both available in case the right trade option is available.

Bump for the off-season.

Looking for some relief help or take some big contracts off your hands if you're willing to send me a prospect.

I have room for one more contract dump if you want to unload one for a few prospects.

May have to get someone to take Oh in return if you want to dump a large chunk of salary.

Got some big names here and some big bats if someone wants or needs to add a cheap power bat to their roster. Or maybe some power guys:

Albert Gaona - Currently on a minor league deal for 30-days. He hit 34 homeruns last year for Charlotte and 38 the year before. 2.6 and 1.5 WAR last two years. Will get paid just $3 million if you bring him to your roster.

George Robertson - Guy put up 2.1 WAR last year in YS! Can't ask for a better platoon option at 1B than this guy. Minor League deal will cost you just $2.5 million in salary to bring him up!!!

Jon Mick - I'm probably bringing this guy up myself (or at least one of these guys) to be my full-time DH now. Minor League deal that will cost you $3 million to put on your roster. 46 homeruns last year and a 2.8 WAR for Portland.

Carlton Winson - Have a roster spot and want to boost your ticket sales? Then add Winson to your BBA roster for just $2.5 million. Guy will run into a few homeruns, draw a few walks, and probably strike out quite a few times as well, but your fans will be happy to see him play!!

Alfredo Salazar - Likewise with this potential future HOF who will cost you just $1.5 million to add to your roster.

Allan MacHugh - Need a catcher who will draw a ton of walks and cost you just $1 million in salary, then MacHugh is your guy!!!

If my FI wasn't already 100 I'd probably bring 2-3 of these guys up myself and just sell tickets! If I didn't have Guerrer eating up $18 million this season at 1B, I'd probably bring 2-3 of these guys up. But I just don't have the room so let's get creative. I know some of these guys are upgrades to your 1b/DH position and I got them for cheap. So let's make a trade over the next 30-days. Dig deep into your farm system and offer me those guys with the stuck changeups that will never mature. Offer me some relief pitching down the road. I don't need your COFs though. No one one on a 40-man roster either. Maybe even just buy them from me and send me some cash or bonus funds!
Guys I hit the jackpot on some Minor League deals this sim. Anyone need an upgrade at 1B/DH or need a boost with Fan Interest?

Can these guys be traded yet or do the restrictions on trading free agents not apply to minor league contracts? Not being snarky, just don’t know off hand

I went and looked it up in the Constitution just now....It appears ML players can’t be traded for 30 days...

Well disregard this whole block! Haha Unless anyone wants Oh or Guerrer on the cheap!!

I guess I’ll let these guys terrorize the minor league circuit for 30-days and maybe get my teams a little boost.

The Vets

1B/DH George Robertson - Since Guerrer got injured I felt it was best to call up one of these guys and Robertson was the pick. Could give a team a relatively cheap, platoon rental for down the stretch if anyone is looking for such a thing.

1B/DH Albert Gaona - Gaona still sits in Double-A and is having a solid season down there as you'd expect a guy who could be in the BBA to be doing.

SS/3B Jaime Ramirez - Having a solid season on the left side of the infield. A .322 average, .733 batting average, 17 stolen bases in 18 attempts, and a 0.9 WAR thus far. Has a vesting option for 2043 which as of right now will not be met so you can possibly look at this as a rental player if you need an upgrade at SS. I'd be willing to send some cash, cover some of his salary, or take back an expiring contract if you have interest in Ramirez so we can fit him in your cap.

Lionnel Crepin - Having a pretty good year. .401 OBP and right at a .900 OPS. He's trending towards landing me at least an S2 pick next season, could possibly get to S1 status if he bumps his WAR some so he has a little more value to me than just a throw away guy.

I could probably be talked into a few other guys on the ACT roster (or everyone) if you're interested.

Looking for relief pitching prospects in return. Or warty guys with stuck change-ups or something.
