Re: Jacksonville 2027 Block
I'm guessing this is a serious, Altena is better than Arévalo comment. But I read it as a tongue in cheek, Ron should be all over boys comment.bschr682 wrote:Ron should be all over Boys Altena...

Re: Jacksonville 2027 Block
Ron can try his best to buck the stereotype, but for my money, mediocre rhbs will always be stu's niche.

Re: Jacksonville 2029 Offseason Block
Interesting. Not even a nibble out of a 20 year old, solid platoon catcher (the good half) who tore apart Single-A and WL pitching as a first year pro.

I'd nibble but I certainly wouldn't trade anything awesome for him.udlb58 wrote:Interesting. Not even a nibble out of a 20 year old, solid platoon catcher (the good half) who tore apart Single-A and WL pitching as a first year pro.

That's awfully optimistic of you.udlb58 wrote:CF Benjamin Franklin Pearce - Don't have to trade him, but he would still make a very good starting CF for anyone in need of one.

I dunno I tend to agree. If you need CF he's probably pretty solid. If you're upgrading it's a different story probably.

Re: Jacksonville 2029 Block
He was a -1 ZR in 70 games in center (he started there against lefties and got a bunch of starts when Chavez was hurt too), so he very much can still play the field, and he had a 90 OPS+ in a down year (no batting ratings drops all season). He's easily still in the top half of the league in terms of center fielders. Now, if someone doesn't think that top half of the league is worth his contract? That is certainly debatable.bschr682 wrote:That's awfully optimistic of you.udlb58 wrote:CF Benjamin Franklin Pearce - Don't have to trade him, but he would still make a very good starting CF for anyone in need of one.
