A Quinn-tessential Hall of Famer?
Quinn Greene is on the current ballot, he of a career BBA slash line of .227/.284/.458 (0.4 career BBA WAR). To be fair, his illustrious GBC career includes two MVPs, six All-Star appearances, a slash line of .331/.403/.676 in 4300+ PA, and 49.8 WAR in the GBC.
So the question (and others below) is, did you vote for him to be in the Brewster Baseball Hall of Fame?

He doesn’t even clear my roughly 60 WAR threshold.

He was great in the GBC but came to the BBA too late. And honestly, I'm not sure I want it to be combined Hall because of the change to make the GBC a minor league a few seasons back. If it were still a peer but less prestigious league, I would feel differently.

Would Ichiro be in the hall of fame if he never came to America?

That's an alternate universe I want no part of.

I will vote for Greene, Backhouse and Ripley every year until they drop off the ballot. As long as it's a combined Hall of Fame, the best players in the GBC are deserving of entry. And I honestly don't understand the pushback to that, like, it's not like this is some steroids debate or something. Vote them in.

The debate would be they aren't better players than 20+ BBA guys so there's not currently room on my ballot.woods wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 1:05 pmI will vote for Greene, Backhouse and Ripley every year until they drop off the ballot. The GBC is a minor league now. It may be technically combined but this to me is like saying the best Mexican League players should be in the MLB Hall of Fame. I jad plenty of room for Greene and didn't even give him a "homer" vote.BaseClogger wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 1:13 pmThe debate would be they aren't better players than 20+ BBA guys so there's not currently room on my ballot.woods wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 1:05 pmI will vote for Greene, Backhouse and Ripley every year until they drop off the ballot. Hmm. 10 various no votes in this poll means he's likely not getting in of everyone is being honest.
Especially since I don't think Justin voted and I believe he's a no as wel.
