Look I will take a LOT of insults but comparing me to the Browns is fighting words.

UAB football and/or basketball, but it looks like we were limited to pro teams...
...and, yes, Montreal UAB mascot is Blazers. There is no other D1 program with that mascot/logo and just one - Valdosta State - in collegiate athletics. There are a number of high schools around the nation that are Blazers and many of them have "borrowed" our graphics

Been fortunate enough to see all my pro teams (Penguins, Packers, Bayern Munich) win multiple titles. Only one Monty so far though, so simple enough choice for me.

Re: Which Title Would you Want?
I’ve lived through three Reds World Series wins, so I’d have to take the Bengals, who have been soooo close a couple of times.
I’d love to win the BBA, but based on my experience with other leagues, winning is somewhat tempered by the fact that there’s no one else in the “real world” to share it with; nobody understands why you’re walking around with a shit-eating grin…

I’m a Pirates fan, no chance they’ll win anytime soon with the MLB financial system and Nutting as the owner.
Steelers and Pens won championships recently. I don’t follow the NBA or Premier League. Gotta go after the Landis.

The last time the Browns won the title (1964) I was in diapers. I will probably be wearing them again if they win a Super Bowl before I croak!

Re: Which Title Would you Want?
I don't think its fair to give MLB's financial system much of the blame for the Pirates not winning. If the Marlins/White Sox/Cardinals/Royals can win a World Series so can Pittsburgh.

Re: Which Title Would you Want?
The MLB financial system isn’t the main reason for the Pirates not winning. That falls on their inability to find and develop their talent. The financial system puts them at a disadvantage because like Miami and Kansas City they don’t have the ability to retain their key stars. Oakland fell into this and needed Beane to develop Moneyball. When PNC was built the Pirates tried to expand their payroll, but met MLB debt to equity maximum and had to move guys like Aramis Ramirez, Kenny Lofton, and others.BaseClogger wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 4:37 pmI don't think its fair to give MLB's financial system much of the blame for the Pirates not winning. Re: Which Title Would you Want?
When a small market team NEVER wins the problem is in the front office. When they can't win for more than short periods the problem is with the system. That part kind of is what it is. Tampa seems to be the exception that proves the rule.

Re: Which Title Would you Want?
The Pirates' problem isn't cash, it's that they have zero idea how to develop players. I've been watching talented but troubled players succeed outside of Pittsburgh for almost 40 years now. It's not a new problem. The financial system doesn't help, but that's not why they're losers.

How many championships have Milwaukee and Cleveland won recently? St. Louis I give them credit up until recently they were the among the gold standards on how to run a mid market team.BaseClogger wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 8:22 pmSt. Louis, Cleveland, and Milwaukee have all had extended runs of success.

Re: Which Title Would you Want?
Still haven’t changed. See Henry Davis and just about every other prospect with the current management team. That surprises me because Cherington was supposed to be a developmental mind from his time with Toronto.Trebro wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2024 8:19 pmThe Pirates' problem isn't cash, it's that they have zero idea how to develop players.
