Re: How Do You Feel About OOTP 25 So Far?
My problem right now with 25 is I feel like they changed too many things at once. It's a LOT to take in. I'm sure it will be fine, but the learning curve for those of us who spend less time with the game is much higher.
And I say that while still appreciating that folks will share their experiences.

Re: How Do You Feel About OOTP 25 So Far?
My thoughts, so far - and I've been playing in OOTP 25 for a few weeks, since the end of my other league's most-recent season - is that it's a frigging game and games are made to evolve, just like us. I'm fine with it. It's still fake baseball. If OOTP 25 instituted pitchers throwing 300 mph or outfielders who could jump into the upper decks to rob home runs, I would be bummed. Having my fake players' fake ratings go up and down a notch? I can deal with that. And then there's the development lab thing: do I micromanage my players' development or not? I'm not telling you, but one of the things I love about this game is that I sometimes notice how much I deal with my staff in real life like I manage my fake organization. It's a kick and a half!

First of all, fake baseball? Second of all, there was a SNES game where players had abilities like jumping really high or throwing really hard. Don't recall the name but it was quite fun.JimSlade wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 2:46 pmMy thoughts, so far - and I've been playing in OOTP 25 for a few weeks, since the end of my other league's most-recent season - is that it's a frigging game and games are made to evolve, just like us. I used to love Baseball Stars so much. The money spend to build your players was awesome. The development lab gets us closer to that so I am 100% on board. Love it.Dington wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 4:00 pmFirst of all, fake baseball? Second of all, there was a SNES game where players had abilities like jumping really high or throwing really hard. Re: How Do You Feel About OOTP 25 So Far?
I've only skimmed my team but am pretty much in a fog. Financial things are usually what takes me the longest to grasp. Like why does my team have a $132 million budget but the game tells me I can only have an $84 million payroll. And why again I start with such a massive deficit. I miss the times of v23 and earlier when we had IN GAME CASH which I could easily fix with PP spendings.
As for my players, yeah I have no clue who is good or not. One player went from a 75 potential to 45. Gaajlimitz still looks like a stud in contact and will likely debut at 18. But on the surface, my team looks even worse than the 63 win version last year and it appears I'll have to find some financial loopholes in PP spending to even boost my payroll close to $100 million.

Re: How Do You Feel About OOTP 25 So Far?
The only way I'll be mad is if this version hard-coded in that a team must hit at least 100 homers in a season. Otherwise, my feelings are the game needs to continue to make changes like it did this version (development, show more ratings) to become better and not just a quick paint job and, as Feenix would say, a yearly Marcus tax.
