Again, speaking generally here. Curious off the top of your head how you think you'll use the training, not necessarily what you end up doing.

Mostly long because those potential bumps are huge, but will also throw in some defensive ones, too.

I plan to use a lot of long ones but helping solidify some guys defensively could definitely help make some guys more valuable as well.

I plan to take it on a case by case basis, see what the tool can do.

I fully expect to be ensuring strong defenders with a lower bat can defend as many places as possible. We'll see.

of course the harder a program is, the less likely the player will actually improve. it's possible to use all your slots (what Ron called billets) for the longer training and get no results, or worse, regression . So going for easier, shorter training sessions, may be more useful.
I think the default is six lab slots per organization, six slots in the OS, which last till ST, and then the slots open up for use again in ST.
The slots can be filled by any player in your entire organization. Your AI can fill the slots for you, but you have to ask it (it won't do it automatically). But most of the AI's suggestions have been crap, in my experience.

I feel like it's going to just play out on its own.

If I have a 10 Stamina RP with two good pitches... obviously I'm going to push him for a third pitch.
If I have a 10/6/9 pitcher... that extra point of movement would make a big difference.
If I have a good hitting, 8 range outfielder... I'll try to bump him to 9 range to be a legit CF

If there isn't any big gains to be had... I'll probably just use an easy goal on someone who I think will be around a while.

I think the real opportunity is mid- late round drafting and rule 5/ dumpster dive free agents. Those acquisitions are always crap shoots. Being able to steer a player in a certain direction puts the odds in your favor a bit more. Or at least gives you hope.

I think your last paragraph is probably the biggest area where this change could matter. taking a guy with some issues and hoping development can fix them is definitely a strategy to pursue

Yeah, that and turning a AAAA guy into a legit big leaguer with some time in the gym. I have a handful of guys who could definitely be contributors with a small improvement in an area.

There's no quick fix in sight for Rockville. I'm most interested in seeing what this can do for prospects in the middle of their minor league journey.

I think I will start by mainly trying to improve defense as Edmonton's defense is pretty crappy.

I will probably only use the development lab for targeted development - using it for what I think the player needs.
