Should Jay Hodge Be Converted?

Post by RonCo » Sun Jan 28, 2024 10:23 pm

I don't think I'm going to actually do this...but I'm wondering what the group concensus is.

Jay Hodge is sitting down im my minor leagues (still apparently on the minor league deal that converts to a major league deal if called up 30 days after opening day...whatever). If the stuff could come back up, he could be useful. So, should he be converted? Would it result in a player with any real value?

Thoughts?

Sure! It would be worth the 20 PPT to make Hodge the bane of @Lane 's existence.

I like a good trolling and it's not like you don't have the spare PPT to do it.

My concern is he doesn’t have a decent second pitch.

I think once your velo drops, it just keeps dropping. So he may be useful for like a month and then revert back to being a turd again. But if you play Long Beach in April, by all means make it happen.

Jokes aside it depends on if he's your best candidate. If no one else stands out what is the harm in trying?

1.75? Really?

Not 1.69 or 4.20 or 6.9?

Disappointed in you.

I don't think it will help him be very serviceable. But sometimes there are other factors at play when making moves/decisions.

Go for it.
