2058 Poll - Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
Thinking about making a proposal for a PPT Reward to do some cosmetic tweaks to your team's home game schedule.
This would be something like your team only plays during the day at home, only during the night, always at a certain time on certain days. Maybe "Earth's Team" wants to have Monday games at 7am so that it's primetime for their fans in London.
Would you be interested in such a reward?

Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
I can't say I'd use it a lot, and it would depend on the cost, but being able to use PP to make a change or two would be fun, especially since a savvy GM could get some of it back by writing team news around it. "Team announces annual Statehood Day Celebration" or whatnot.
My only concern would be how hard is that going to be to implement/maintain? would it break the schedule for other teams, theoretically, if the schedule rotates between teams? Is it permanent, or one-time? What about when a new GM takes over, since while we are pretty stable, there's usually a few swap outs/in per year.
Still, any way to allow people to use PP to make things more their own is a good thing, in my opinion. So if it's feasible, I'd love to see it in a future year. Yes, theoretically PP is "ideally" used to make your team more competitive, but I think other good ways to spend it should be encouraged as well.

Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
Remember when OOTP used to have Special Days you could make on the schedule? Like Bat Day, etc? That was awesome

I voted yes. I have all kinds of points and honestly things like this give me some creative angles to create more stories about.

Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
exactly what i'm going for. we had some significant issues in the schedule that needed fixing, and the opportunity to do something like this to encourage more writing/engagement is exciting.

I voted no, but have no problem with this reward. I just can’t imagine I’d use it.

Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
Please bear in mind this would only make more work for me. You can't change a schedule template once it's imported, these changes would all need to be made one by one by the simmer.

Same for me. If people find inspiration from this, that's great and I fully support that. Just don't see myself using it.

Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
oh! i was figuring that i would make adjustments and provide you the schedule file to do an import in the preseason. i definitely do not want to add more work than that to your load.

Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
When does the schedule template need to go in game? Is this something that we'd need to set an early deadline for if teams wanted to utilize? Granted Lane would be the one doing the extra leg work and not Recte. But if Lane is game......

Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
The main problem with making it a PPT feature is that it becomes institutionalized. So when Lane isn't doing it, someone else has to.

Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
i get that, but i think it could be more like custom ammys, where it's done whenever it's done, and not something that has to be done.
anyway it's not super important, and more than anything if it's work for Matt I definitely don't want to do it.

Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
I could see that. You could essentially make a call each off-season as fits in the same way Matt does. I think as long as it's no real work for Matt, that works.

Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
If I remember correctly it would have to go in before preseason. Its been a while since Ive dealt with that though, I may be wrong.7teen wrote: ↑Tue Jan 23, 2024 10:42 amWhen does the schedule template need to go in game? Re: Game Time PPT Reward Proposal
I think this is 100 percent dependant on how much work for Matt. I like it as stated but worry implementation would be hard.
