Schedule Poll 2 - Game Times

Post by Lane » Thu Dec 28, 2023 4:58 pm

I believe that we currently have all game times set for 7pm local time start. It's been suggested that we move weekends to day games and possibly add some weekday afternoon games as well. Thoughts?

I wonder if the game times affect in game fatigue, such as an afternoon game after a night game. Unless I was sure there'd be no effect, I'd like to keep 24 hrs between games.

from the manual, they only mention number of games played as contributor to fatigue, and not time between games

I like the idea of day games.

And Stephen is selling himself short. The new schedule structure is massively more balanced than the schedule this year, where two teams had only 14 home games in the first two months and six more had fewer than 20. This is really great work by the Vice-Commish.

I voted my preference but can’t think of a compelling reason to care.

I don't think it makes any difference at all, but my heart likes day games. Actually, just a sec...I'll ask the devs if fatigue is influenced by time of game. Can't hurt, anyway.

I voted to switch it up to some day games but really have no preference.

I’m sure I can steal 4-6 PPs about some day games in the TNs.

I like all games at the same time so watching the live feed is easier. Not a hill I’m willing to stand on though. Also curious about fatigue.

that's definitely a motivator.

surely some outfielders will be losing balls in the sun. and i'm sure some beat writers would love to opine about how Kate's hair looks in the sun versus under the lights

I've had a home and home double-header with Mexico City more than once. And this was before Ron's crazy little transporter thing was invented. So, I'm guessing time doesnt get much of a thought when it comes to anything in this game.

This is a great idea, I really like switching it up with day games. If only to get closer to realism with day/night splits.

Right. I can't seem to get a real answer, but I have very little doubt that game times don't make a difference. So the question is if you like the cosmetics of day games.

I mean, if Charlotte and Rockville can finish a game in Charlotte at 6:43 pm and start a new one at 7:05 pm in Rockville(410 miles away)... Anything is possible.

Maybe some players play better in day or night games? I don't think this is an ootp thing but would be a fun immersion if it were. Maybe players with poor work ethic and low adaptability party late into the night regardless of teams schedule and come to park hungover.
