Random Thoughts On the Mad Dash To The Finish Line
Nov 16, 2055
A recent poll pondered the question of whether Ron Collins, “GM” of the Sacramento Mad Popes would make it to 100 TN before the midnight EST deadline this evening. With 8 minutes and 12 seconds to go until the deadline, the question is still open.
No one is sure if the century mark will be eclipsed, and in fact pretty much no one really cares. And yet, here sits that stupid GM toiling to type out enough coherent words that the league will accept them as “valid.”
“It’s been a mad dash,” Collins thought to himself as the seconds ticked by. “But a lot of fun. I laughed, I cried, I got the program. Along the way, I’ve made some new friends, and reconnected with some oldies but goodies. And I even bantered with Chad! I'd have to say the hardest part was remembering what number I was on.”
When he asked himself if he’d do it again, he scratched his head and thought … well, I’d like to say I’m not that stupid, but we all know better than that. Get me a shart or a graph, and next thing you know … oops, I did it again.
And now that moments slide by. Two minutes until the deadline.
Now just one.
Can the stupid GM save this missive? Can he post it in time?
And Will it Count?
