Who Would You Do?

Based on what we know about this season's FA pitching class, and the estimated associated costs, who would you do?

Do you go big on someone like Aki Kondo?

Or, would you throw last year's #1 Draft Pick to the wolves and let Warren 'Prickly Pear' Moore cut his teeth in this year's rotation?

I’d go with “other,” too. I don’t think I’d gamble with Moore’s future, and the asking price on Kondo looks crippling ...

You have the money. I'd offer Kondo a shorter deal for a ton of money. Like 4/$120M and see if you can make it work. Give the kid another year though. No need to rush him. Unless he really develops over the offseason and has a good Spring.

Yeah, there are other options. I fear I may not get the Governor of NC to sign off on the tax breaks needed to bring Kondo to Charlotte so the other option may just be to put Reini back in the rotation and try to manage it so he only pitches at home.

I would think that Alicea would be more affordable now that Kondo is taking the spotlight. I would sign him in a second if by owner wasn't a big jerk and limited my budget so much.
