Wichita fans divided on Laverick

Post by Fat Nige » Wed May 20, 2020 5:27 am

For the second season running Wichita has only managed 59 wins as the team show no improvement in their eight year history and are probably even going backwards. The calls into the local radio station have become so vociferous that they’ve put out a poll for everyone to vote on.

Would you keep Laverick, or do you think the franchise should be doing much better?

If I’m supposed to role play this as an actual Wichita fan the only bright spot the franchise ever really has had was Ramirez who you traded away. I’d probably be pretty peeved about that.

Although as a fan I could probably be swayed if you kept Maldonado around.

Yes, I’m sorry for that, but it was the only way I could see to add some proper pitching somewhere in the system. I should have probably asked for more but I’m a crap trader. I’ve never understood the system of value, no one ever wants to meet mine and I had to get what I thought I could get. I’d love to keep Maldonado around but he just won’t budge from six years at a minimum of $90 million and I just can’t do that. It would leave me with only around $8 million to improve my rotation and that would hardly be enough to get one pitcher or two if it was Christmas. It’s hard at the bottom with absolutely no pitching, no farm and just a few shekels in the kitchen jar to buy shiny FA’s. I’m as far away as ever from a team that’s not a disgrace

There isnt going to be a lot of pitching available to go get anyway.

I’m torn between creating a bunch of cap space and acquiring junk in FA or just keeping some guys with options and keep riding the wave until I build up something through the draft or the mega 2038-2039 guys either reach FA or fade away.

Let's just be honest... We all think Wichita should sack it's current GM but we all get along with him and we don't want to see another new GM come in! haha

That's the option we all wanted to vote for!
