Ballpark Food Challenge - Round 4 (Semifinals)

Before we look at the semifinal match-ups, I do want to thank everyone's participation, which is the only reason why I came up with this silly idea. We've been getting 50% of the league's GMs to take the time to vote and many to comment and stump on their entries behalf. You guys rock!

And now, Round 4 match-ups:

(9) Calgary's "Hanski's Maple BBQ Brisket Sandwich" vs (5) Twin Cities' "The Juicy Lucy Burger"
In a tight race, Calgary last-minute entry into the competition knocked off the beloved Chicago meal in a meat sandwich battle royale, while Twin Cities cheeseburger extraordinaire thumped the hot chicken sandwich of Nashville. Who will come out of the all-powerful Burger/Hot Dog/Sandwich Region and who will be sent home with a doggy bag?

(7) Edmonton's "The Hot Mess" vs (3) Portland's "Kate's Kookies"
In an all-Canadian match-up, Montreal's nachos took Edmonton down to the wire but it wasn't enough to overcome the famous poutine plate who narrowly won in an upset. Edmonton will have to bring it again, facing the highest-remaining seed in the competition, Portland's "Kate's Kookies". Portland brought out the big guns, in more ways than one, last round so what is up their sleeve these semifinals is anyone's guess. Another close one or will Portland cookies cakewalk into the finals?

My poutine can't get you drunk, but it is a perfect, hilarious family moment at the ballpark when we have the family line up for a picture with Edmonton's La Poutine restaurant's The Hot Mess dish and as the gravy erupts shooting the hot liquid into the air and onto their faces the camera flashes and catches the totally family friendly moment.

We just increased the pay for all of our cleaning staff and bought brand new squeegees for each one of them.
