New Poll for 4 sims a week

Stranger things have happened, but I'd be shocked if we don't go back when the world gets stable.

Matt had often been asked for a 4th sim earlier and laughed it off because his job was too intense to support it. I see no reason to think the opposite will suddenly happen when he's back to work. In fact, it will not surprise me if the league sees a few days of sporadic sims as he has to acclimate to the working cycle again.

That said, I can certainly see a case where--if we did not go back when things change--we would lose some GMs for our slick-salesman ways. It seems to me the situation right now, however, is best served with a short-term shrug and a long-term wait and see. The worst case is that a bunch of people decide they really like this new pace and Matt decides he can support it. At that point, if someone despises four sims, that person is faced with the dilemma of whether to resign or not. No on wants anyone to leave the league, but we are all semi-grown ups. Folks gotta folk.

But I think it's logical to see that the predicate for accelerated schedules is recte's work (and others). If his ofice was still open I don't think we would be having this conversation. If he (and others) are still not going into the office come the beginning of 2043, I'd be shocked if we didn't keep the accelerated schedule--which would be justifiable.

Everyone here is hoping that things go back to normal outside our little BBA world as soon as practical.

Until then, I say just lace 'em up and have fun.

I agree with all of this, with the caveat that I would hope that recte would run another poll if this does go past 2042 to take the pulse of the league again. His situation might not have changed but others might have.

I'm naturally used to 4 sims a week so I'm a little biased but it really isn't that bad, I know there are definitely guys in here way more busy than I am, but with the virus going on, it's not a horrible thing to try out doing 4 sims a week.

I voted 'No' but I am really just on the fence. My personal feeling from a league perspective is that if I did not have an overriding feeling, then I should not vote for the change.

Life-wise - I am still working the same amount as always, albeit from home. We have received a 20% cut and the company has reduced us to 4 day work weeks to compensate. However, that was assuming I was only working a 40 hour work with to begin with and that some slack (not THE SLACK) would be given to my deliverables, neither of which is correct so I really do not have that much extra time after helping with the kids and grandkids. But, it is manageable in either a 3-sim or 4-sim environment.

Bottom line, if the 4th sim is there each week, I will do that action and enjoy it (that line seems familiar for some odd reason), but if not, I will enjoy the other things and responsibilities in my life. I will still write the same number of TN's in either case. My TN contribution is more mood-based than it is time-based hence why I will never be in the uber_TN echelon as some of the more prolific writers in the league.
