Ballpark Food Challenge - Round 1 (#1 of 4)

You can find all entries at the main post here.

And now, Round 1 match-ups:

BURGER/HOT DOG/SANDWICH REGION - Part 1

(1) Madison's "The Good Morning Burger" vs (32) Long Beach's "The Hang Ten Hoagie"
Burger versus sandwich. All the meats versus fish. Do you vote for something you surely couldn't finish in one sitting or something that could have you hungry a few hours later? A truly contrasting match-up right out of the gate.

(16) Charlotte's "Homer's Citrus Dog" vs (17) Chicago's "Portillo's Italian Beef Sandwich"
It's a shame only one could move on out of these two. Both items are fairly new in the Brewster universe but both are quite popular. Does Chicago get an edge since its sandwich can be found in Portillo's across the city, not just at the ballpark? Or does Charlotte's secret weapon, the mandarin-orange soda slaw, advance them to the next round?

(8) Charm City's "Crab Mac n Cheese Dog" vs (25) Brooklyn's "Coney Island Pizza Dog"
This is the kind of match-up I love. Dog versus Dog but featuring non-traditional regional toppings. Everyone loves pizza, but do they love it on a hot dog? And not everyone is a crab meat fan. This one could be closer than expected.

(9) Calgary's "Hanski's Maple BBQ Brisket Sandwich" vs (24) Seattle's "Seattle Special Pulled Pork Sliders"
They say 'styles make fights' and this match-up features two BBQ doozies. Whiskey maple barbecue sauce or cherry barbecue sauce? Could Seattle's genius twist of coffee-rubbed pork be the edge they need or is the progressive flavor too much for fans to handle?
