Re: Average Salary - C Francisco Flores
Flores is gonna get paid. The BBA likes offense and there isnt many offensive-minded catchers out there.

Re: Average Salary - C Francisco Flores
Maybe, if I draft another 13 POT knuckleball guy.
Otherwise, I'm spending my money elsewhere.

Re: Average Salary - C Francisco Flores
All I can say is that he must have wanted out awfully fucking bad, because I offered him a balloon payment at the end that would have made this contract about $15 million higher than he's asking.

Re: Average Salary - C Francisco Flores
This is a problem...im seeing similar things with Cravat and Virgil Shafer. Lets see what they actually sign for.aaronweiner wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 5:53 pmAll I can say is that he must have wanted out awfully fucking bad, because I offered him a balloon payment at the end that would have made this contract about $15 million higher than he's asking.

If you're willing to...what was the structure of that offer?aaronweiner wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 5:53 pmAll I can say is that he must have wanted out awfully fucking bad, because I offered him a balloon payment at the end that would have made this contract about $15 million higher than he's asking.

Re: Average Salary - C Francisco Flores
I wish i could remember. Maybe next year we should do a data call to have people save this info prior to FA starting. I am pretty sure Cravat was like 5/65M, and shafer was like 6/90M...something in that range.RonCo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 7:08 pmIf you're willing to...what was the structure of that offer?aaronweiner wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 5:53 pmAll I can say is that he must have wanted out awfully fucking bad, because I offered him a balloon payment at the end that would have made this contract about $15 million higher than he's asking.

Gave him a guaranteed team option (fully guaranteed) for a bunch.RonCo wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 7:08 pmIf you're willing to...what was the structure of that offer?aaronweiner wrote: ↑Sun Mar 15, 2020 5:53 pmAll I can say is that he must have wanted out awfully fucking bad, because I offered him a balloon payment at the end that would have made this contract about $15 million higher than he's asking.

Re: Average Salary - C Francisco Flores
Im guessing where the buyout equals the salary? Would make sense if you have the money and can afford both the buyout and anyone else you sign to fill the cap space.

Re: Average Salary - C Francisco Flores
Ok. Yeah. That makes sense.
I agree that I'm not sure the game does (or does not) handle player's evaluation of buy outs particularly well. I just don't know. I think they are certainly there to penalize GMs for taking options. That would be an interesting test to set up.
