I try to keep up with slack but by the time I've caught up, some guy called Justin as added another 50 messages of twaddle that I have to go through.

I’m fine with Slack. I mostly just like it for the OOTP integration. It’s a little cleaner than the forums I guess. Maybe I just find it easier to read. Forums are antiquated, but I enjoy them more. Especially debates. More well thought out, long form back and forth detailing each person’s position on a topic.
Man, when Ted quit and I jumped on, the league lost a great forum poster/debater and all it gained was a Slack sh*t-poster. Put that in your list of horrible BBA trades.

I think Slack is great for general chitter chatter and the occasional rant, in addition to real time reaction to sims. As mentioned before, it's perfect for trade talks. I might be on it slightly less if I already didn't use it for work.

I haven't seen anything on Slack that will will be missed by non-Slack users outside of some game theory conversations, memes, inside jokes and camaraderie-building. But of course those things can have value.

Not trying to throw generalizations out, but I feel like the GMs who struggle to meet TN and post minimums are also not on Slack, so I don't believe Slack is taking away from the forum. Like the forum participation, we all have real lives with work, family, etc. and not being able to participate on Slack is understandable. But if you are able to sneak away and log on, I think most will find it enjoyable with any time they devote to it.

Yes, you’re probably right, the GMs that left or were placed on bail-out weren’t great Slack users. But I do miss the pages long forum rants we used to have before aGM flounced out, now they seem to happen on Slack and consequently are not preserved for the ages

Ummm, there were actually quite a few guys that were big Slack posters that werent meeting their TN quotas just a handful of sims before the end of the season.

Maybe we should institute a No Points are Counted for Podcasts (or others) until TN requirements are met?

Great for PMs. Too hard to get caught up when not on it for a bit.

I voted other.

Slack requires me to be on my phone a lot because it's blocked at work on the computers. That's my reason. I've made a few appearances here and there but I have a tough time keeping up with the conversations on there when I miss a few days. Easier to back read stuff on here IMO.

to quickly catch up on all that you missed on Slack you can use the "All Unreads" channel. Its a quick way to filter out what you missed on each channel. I used Slack a lot at work, so I'm in it all day anyway. I find it easier to catch up on vs Forums.
