2038 Doubleday Series

Post by RonCo » Fri May 31, 2019 10:35 am

Lots of interesting story lines here. In the Johnson, Jacksonville's the juggernaut missing its shortstop, Vegas is playing with a chip on their shoulder. Mexico City wants to show the Sunbelt is real against three-peater Rockville. In the Frick, Seattle's steady-Eddy pitching faces California's behemoth program in something akin to David and Goliath while Yellow Springs wants to avoid another October wipe out against Edmonton's emerging super team.

So, trying this in just one poll...what do you think?

I wouldn't call Seattle and me David and Goliath. Our pitching is more similar than it seems. My park suppresses BABIP while theirs does the opposite, so the results look different. And they have actual talented offensive players.

Me too, I think. Assuming folks can avoid hitting the blank lines. :)

California has averaged 100+ wins a year for the past four seasons. Seattle just over 90. Not completely David and Goliath, but it's got enough of a feel to it for the moniker to stick. :)

It's going to be a really good Doubleday. YS9 is going to be really tough to get past. Their offense is stupid. Edmonton pitching needs to be fantastic to beat the Nine and given the past two months, I'm not sure how we'll fair. I'm hopeful though.
