OMG THERE ARE SO MANY OPTS OUTS AND PO's - Desiderius Kirschbaum

I'm going to do something new this offseason with free agents, so I figured I'd rack up some easy PP as a way to research the market. It should help you guys to with some questions I'll later be asking you. We've been wondering how good OOTP is at players judging the market when deciding on player opt outs and options. It does feel like a mixed bag so far. So, before we get to the wonderful day where we all figure out who is screwed and who is not so much, let's see what we think. Remember, I'm asking you, SHOULD this player opt out. Not whether you expect them to do so. With each player I ask about, I'll try to give a little background. Feel free to discuss.

Desiderius Kirschbaum

So umm. Look. He shouldn't opt out. Period. Don't vote otherwise. Really, I'm only making this poll so I can remember to look later to see if a replacement level 31 year old opts out of 23 mil. (16 plus then a 5 mil buyout of the last year)

Why does Kirschbaum - whom has not sustained an injury over this period of time per his HTML page - only have 65 ABs combined the past 2 years? I mean, he's not *good*, but he's not THAT bad, either. His AA gutter trash replacement put up -1 WAR over 1500% more ABs last year.

I know LOU is tanking, but that seems a touch blatant. And the GM can't even blame angst over the bad deal since he's the one that give it to Kirschbaum. And just about no one was surprised that he fell flat on his face shortly after.

IF I WAS AN ANGRY YOUNG MAN I'D POUND YOUR FACE IN FOR INSINUATING I WAS TANKING. But I'm not so I won't, Clohessy is a utility backup, he only started 22 games in the outfield, only 18 in LF. Pedro Saldana (1.9 WAR) has taken most of the starts at left because I believe he's better. Kirshbaum hasn't played because of that and the faint hope that he might get angry enough to opt-out. If he doesn't he might get a few more AB's but Saldana will still be better

That is the first time I've ever been accused of tanking and I hope it's the last. This is supposed to be a game for fun not for insulting your fellow GM's
