Convert José De La Cruz to RP?

Everyone else was doing it so I wanted to get in on the action.

Should I convert José De La Cruz to a RP? I feel like his days as a SP are over and he'd be a 9 or 10/7/6 lefty power arm out of the pen.

Btw, I'm not even sure if I can still do it this season. I believe from what I read I can. But some please confirm that as well. Thanks.

Why in the world has he not be in the majors for 3 full seasons? I would wager half the teams in the league have #5 pitchers worse than De La Cruz right now. At least a handful have worse #4 pitchers, probably.

Because he has a FIP well over 5? I mean, the ratings are there, but kinda hard to keep trotting him out there when he's putting up those numbers.

Same. I took a flier on him in the draft because of his solid ratings and decent contract. I can live with paying him what he's making if he can be a decent bullpen option.

I figured I did with as bad as my pitching was last year, but he was awful. I sent him down.

I think I'm going to do it. Just wanted gauge what some of the league vets had to say on the matter.

EDIT: or anyone who's played under some sort of conversion rules like this before. Still trying to figure out who the best options for conversion would be.

I was already leaning that direction. Only 3 votes, but its 2 to 1 against it. He was a good SP at one point, but he's basically gotten worse each year of the last 4. But he can still get K's so the hope would be he could be a solid MR option.

Too late now, and he doesn't look like he'll convert well. The 2 and five rated pitches wont add much, so he'll have to get all his improvment out of a velocity bump. Frankly, he's probably just as good by putting him in an RP role.

I've never had good luck with 8/7/6 rated pitchers. I don't know what it is about them but they just seem to do poorly for me. Anyway, I know it's late anyway but I'm with Ted on this. I don't think you'd get enough out of the conversion to make it worth it.

- Participation Points can only be spent from after the Landis Memorial Series is over until the Spring Training Sim (offseason, in other words).

I don't know if this was written at a time when the league only had one spring training sim but I'd assume this means the first one.
