Do you raise ticket prices for a Playoff series?

Post by jiminyhopkins » Mon Feb 11, 2019 9:30 am

SO it looks like I might make the playoffs this year. I don't want to leave money on the table, so I was wondering: Is it a common practice to raise one's ticket prices for the playoffs? I don't want to price myself out of sellouts, but I'd like a little extra revenue, especially if the fans are more likely to fill the park for a post season series.

Thoughts?

So I've wondered this too. I tend to leave them be. Partially because I don't think about it. But I'd think raising them won't hurt attendance, especially if you aren't having attendance issues to begin with.

Not that I've had a chance to try this out, but since Nashville prices are so cheap right now anyway, I would definitely be jacking them up at least $5 a ticket if/when I make the playoffs.

I think my substantial increase in the middle of last season will be the last I do for a while. Attendance is down, but revenue is up(for those wondering).

I could be wrong, but I think the game doubles whatever your ticket prices are for the playoffs. I often bump them a dollar or three, and it seems to be fine. Don't know how far they could go.

I don't raise ticket prices, but I do replace hot dogs with foie gras and quintuple those prices.

I raised mine one year just to keep the riff-raff from Louisville out.

We still lost the series but it was a more hospitable crowd I’m sure than what it would’ve been had we kept prices low.
