Expansion Poll #1
The governing board is currently discussion the next round of expansion. We always kind of figured 32 was the natural end point and that 30 teams was just a stopgap. What was never discussed was the timing of going to 32 from 30. We're working on that right now with some fairly vigorous internal debate. So, we've decided to step back and collect some data, to help us frame our discussion a bit more. To that effect, there will be a series of polls released. Please take time to respond. Also, I'm not really looking to start a huge debate about various things. There will be time for that later. This is just an initial collection of opinions to see how you all feel we are. (As a book keeping note, I will not be taking points for any of these polls).
1) Overall, how has expansion changed your enjoyment of the league?
- More enjoyable
- Less enjoyable
- No difference

Re: Expansion Poll #1
I'll just say for the Goats, it's less enjoyable. I get it that they should get the first picks in the draft but with it being so shallow, it was a quick kick in the shins to not get that top pick. I also felt like the expansion draft had fairly favorable rules, especially considering the new GMs weren't really new. Just my opinion though. Overall, still having fun and in the end, The Plan will prevail!

Re: Expansion Poll #1
We had it in our expansion, and I don't know how I would of felt. But looking now, it should probably be at the end of the round in the 1st draft, like MLB did, and use the first year record only for the first draft, then weight the first 2 years without including the 0 win 3rd year, before the team can be fully weighted. Though if we went that route, you probably would have to make the expansion rules slightly more favorable. May 1 less player to protect or something.GoldenOne wrote:I'll just say for the Goats, it's less enjoyable. Re: Expansion Poll #1
completing agree with not having the 0 weighted in for the records, that basically guarantees the expansions teams will be at the top of the draft for 3 years running, which isn't right.bcslouck wrote:We had it in our expansion, and I don't know how I would of felt. That's what we did last time and I don't know if that has been relayed to be the case to Stu and Brett.

Re: Expansion Poll #1
Can't really reply to this, but I suppose as I'm now back in the league thanks to expansion I could say that it is probably more enjoyable than not being in it lol

Re: Expansion Poll #1
I voted no change. I'm sad I'm no longer in the same division, but I am happy to have to compete with Stever. I also liked having 4 wild cards.

Greenville Moonshiners/Jacksonville Hurricanes GM: 2026-Present
Jacksonville Hurricanes GM: (1251-1018); 2029, 2031, 2034-38 Div. Champions
Paris Patriots GM: 2025 (79-83)
Re: Expansion Poll #1
No real change for me. We haven't been in the league long enough to form any meaningful rivalries and so far the move hasn't changed anything.
