CF Norris Morgan is currently the youngest starter in the Bandit's lineup but is becoming one of it's most dangerous. Morgan is the current lead off hitter for the Bandits, and as the table setter is definitely expected to get on base consistently.
The 6'2", 192 lb Morgan was the 12th overall pick of the Bandits in the 2004 draft and has currently got himself slotted as the table setter for the Birmingham offense. Batting lead off is not strange to Morgan, a gifted runner with blazing speed, as he has been hitting in that spot since little league back in his hometown of Owensboro, KY.
Just like Dexter Sheehan, Morgan rose through the Bandits ranks very rapidly. With the team in desperate need for speed, it couldn't resist getting Morgan into it's lineup as soon as possible. Morgan's first full season in the bigs showed great promise for the Bandits future as he finished the 2007 season with a respectable .264 BA with 99 RBI's (second on the team) and 78 runs scored.
But everyone is awestruck with hi 51 stolen bases, a sorely missing attribute to the Bandit arsenal.
If Morgan's development continues at this pace he should grow into an All Star selection and top of the order weapon very rapidly.

Re: Player Spotlight - Birmingham's Norris Morgan
Thought that was funny also, but got no one else with that kind of ability to move to the top spot. Hopefully he has a good 2008 season.
