Who Won The Trade? Top Players Edition #4

Omaha received:
OF Andre Ly
P Tim Dooley

Huntsville(CHI) received:
P Pavel Bure Jr
P Luis Gonzales

This one looks a little lopsided at first. Ly is rated as the ninth best position player in the BBA at 27 years old. He's a very good offensive player and he is an even better defensive player. He won four consecutive Zimmers from '41 ~ '44 and he always seems to be in contention for another. He was the 40th best prospect in the league at the time of the trade but he wasn't even the most highly touted prospect involved. Dooley was rated eleven spots ahead of Ly at 29. Also just 27 years old Dooley has an 87-54 record heading into 2047 to go with a 3.91 career ERA. He posted a scorching 23-5 record during the 2045 season in which I still don't know how he didn't win the Pitcher of the Year. He's also been steady in the post season with a 7-3 mark and a 3.52 ERA. Both players were key parts of the Omaha championship team from last year(2046).

Bure was solid in his only full season with the Black Sox in 2040 but he then left the team via free agency to Vancouver. I assume Gonzales ws added to the deal to protect against this very scenario. Gonzales finished his Black Sox career with a 27-25 record with seven saves and a 5.33 ERA. He struggled as a starter but has sense found his niche in the BBA as a relief pitcher albeit most of his success came after leaving Chicago. After four mediocre seasons with the Black Sox, including two post season appearances, Gonzales was traded to Charlotte in a one for one deal that brought back 22 year old OF prospect Sebastian Fradesso.

WINNER:
Without the trade for Fradesso this trade is terribly one sided. Fradesso does not even things up but he at least makes things better for Chicago. Omaha did the one thing the other three trades in this series didn't do, win the championship. That automatically makes them the winner of this trade although I'll be interested in Fradesso's career when it's over. Can he be as good as Ly? Will Dooley be the best player to come out of this trade? Interesting things to think about but the final answers are years away.
