2046 Trade Discussions

Since we have shifted to keeping discussions of trades off of the individual trade threads, I thought I might try something here and just have a master depository for all trade comments/discussion. As always keep it respectful, disagreements and critiques are fine (and to be expected), but outright blasting and name calling is not.

Well I think Cortez is a good pickup by Long Beach. I understand why you needed to get rid of the salary, I bet Lane tries him in the bullpen.

Also I think with the number of fully developed guys in the draft it will be interesting to see how many of them get signed and dealt to contenders.

Also #2 I will trade my soul to the team that drafts Cano Jr. for him

Oooooh, spicy. Somehow I dont think he'll make it to me at #5 though. I'm predicting a top 3 selection for Cano.

Don't see how Cano isn't #1 unless I'm severely overlooking someone.

Nigel likes pitchers, especially ones that are already somewhat developed and might be an easier guy to sign. Cant see their signability or demand just yet but I know that has an influence when I look at guys.

I don't think I even take Cano top 3.

Where's the BBA Sportsbook when you need them?

Cano is pretty developed himself. He'll already be a decent player in the lower minors as a teenager and should finish the year in A ball. He won't take long if he finishes his development. He's Félix Román Lite and with how pitchers seem to be all over the place right now, I take that guy. You can get a pretty good pitcher with your 2nd round pick in this draft.

I'd be for some odds on this.

Good points. I'd just prefer a fully developed TOR starter.

It’s not that I particularly like pitchers, I’d love to boost my farm with a few elite hitters, but time and again the best player on the board is an elite pitcher and given my lack of finances to pursue to best pitchers in FA this is often the only way I can improve my rotation.
That said, I can see the attraction of Cano Jr, an elite defensive CF who can hit but waiving at me as well is Ken Sparks who could well be the Chilis #2 pitcher in 2047, sandwiched in between Cole & Sizemore in a pretty good 1-2-3 in the rotation? A real puzzle for me

I go back to Ron and Ted’s discussions about team construction matching ballpark construction. El Paso needs to lead the league in hitting with that ballpark, so, in my opinion, Cano Jr. is the perfect player to start down that path.

I hate drafting players with easy signability. I like the challenge. Impossible, huh? Let me show you my checkbook.
