The Walkoff Watch 2063: Edition 5

There's a killer on the road...and he's in San Antonio...

Welcome back to The WaWa 2063!! Going thru Edition #5 the bananas trend cooled down a bit with just a could of derps, but we still have a solid Goat leader and likely The WaWa Walkoff of the Year.

The Walkoff Watch Terminology

balkoff When a pitcher balks in the winning run.
derpoff When a pitcher walks in the winning run, hits a batter with the bases full, or the winning run scores due to a wild pitch or error.
200-proof walkoff When the home team scores in the bottom of a previous inning to extend the game and then scores with a walkoff in a subsequent inning.
pimpoff When the home team scores a walkoff following the visiting team tying the game to cause extra innings (or more extra innings) or scoring what would have been the winning run if the home team hadn’t responded.

Ed. 5 Team and Player Highlights
- As reflected in the standings, thus far, Nashville has been in 11 1-run games and has a 10-1 record. Go figure. Montreal is 8-6 in 14 1-run affairs and Cobble Hill is 5-9. No one’s really face-planting in 1-run games so we’re disappointed.
- Hawaii (2-2) faced their first 4 walkoffs of the year splitting the balance. Austin (1-3) and San Fernando (0-5) stumbled thru 3 walkoff losses with no wins, while Las Vegas (2-2) salavaged one for a 1-2 slate.
- Phoenix’ Israel Pérez collected 2 walkoff wins in this edition as did Hawaii’s Julián Rivera. Long Beach has been the benefactor of 2 derps already. That’s kinda cringe, Surfers.
- San Antonio. You need to get a leash on your boy Steve McFarland. Not only has he registered a derpoff this season but he just dropped his 4th walkoff on the year. Yikes. Austin’s Nelson Middlebrooks has been a problem, too, losing 2 in the first edition and 2 more in this one.
- We saw what is likely The Walkoff Watch’s Walkoff of the Year. We’ll let you go thru the game results and see if you spot it…
